Anyway, ended up running for LH elections, the other three are existing mods (one on LH itself, two more have diamonds on different sites), so most likely they will get elected, which is fine. ;)

I personally don’t think it’s a good idea to accumulate too many diamonds in too few people - a wider range of different individuals is good for the overall decision making and shaping not just on the site but also cross-site.

IMO better have the proven good people accumulate more diamonds than risk diamonds falling into wrong hands.

@DialFrost depends which site, but from what I've seen people jump ahead to save the site if they see not enough nominations in the last day of Nomination phase or so.

Of course, some sites have enough "internal" members, but some just don't have.

@ShadowTheKidWizard ELL has an election now, only 1 candidate with 6 days left, and this site has a tendency with users not standing up :(

@DialFrost MO isn't native SE site, it got migrated into SE as a whole community, so they have their own ways, different from SE ways.

Pretty sure they would disable downvotes there, once such thing is technically possible.

(and with Teams, having big enough company demanding that, SE will do it eventually.)

@DialFrost yeah, these days all the Big Features go to Teams first, then sometimes they might also become available on the free-to-use tier, aka SE sites we know.

Thinking about it, that's exactly "Premium tier" of Stack Overflow, i.e. you get special privileges for paying.... but guess better not go this way in my mind.

This is not a duplicate of donations IMO. No, we will never convert to a for-pay website, requiring users to pay for continued access. I realize "never" is a long time, but it should not happen while I have a say in the matter.

@JourneymanGeek I disagree. One proof is the various features that leak to the Q&A sites by mistake from time to time, that belong only to Teams.

It's SO, just for paying members.

There's still at least one, the "Slack integrations" and "Microsoft Teams integrations" links in our profile Settings.

No idea what it is, it's broken for me of course, but it's something that should exist only for members of Teams, so having it in all profiles means it's the same codebase.

I miss the cooler weather in England and Scotland because I could have hot tea in the morning. Also, I really like putting milk in my tea and I'd forgotten that.

@RyanM A ton, honestly. Pick your poison ;) If you're a fan of green tea, JP greens from Sazen Tea are consistently fantastic. What kindsa teas have you enjoyed? And -- that looks super cool, hand-blending is a tricky art.

@Slate I think I've particularly enjoyed blends. Earl Grey is a favorite. That said, I also lack the knowledge to find good unblended teas, so there's definitely room for me to learn :-)

@ShadowTheKidWizard I don't think it's fishy. Seems somewhat well-researched and detailed, and has no current downvotes whatsoever. Could use a bit of editing to trim out the "Update 1, 2, 3, and 4" stuff though. Might do that now...

On second thought, the updates kinda tell a story and help explain the issue. Might leave it alone.
