How can this bug get more attention meta.stackexchange.com/questions/270111/…

1 hour later…
01:08
@cde It's not just ², but almost any non-alphanumeric character.

@cde in theory you could bounty it but that is most often just a waste of rep. The SE team has a troubled relationship with any character that is not in the 7bit ASCII standard.

@cde attention of ordinary users? Bounty. Attention of SE developers? Only by adding tag, you can flag the question asking a mod to add the tag, but you'll have to explain very carefully why you think this one should get it, as there are thousands of open bug reports.
@M.A.R. Pump. Water Pump.
@M.A.R. making the children is easy and even fun, for some. Problems start only later when they actually need things to grow up and survive in our harsh world. :P

@ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar Don't forget the list of stuff they're handling now
12:22
@JourneymanGeek oh I don't but I don't want to scare people away with my mantra "The bug will never get fixed because there are hundreds in the TODO list already and they don't really fix any bug from the list anyway". It's true, but still, let's give people some (false) hope. ;)
@ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar If its not on the list, chances of getting a status-review flag is unlikely too :D
@JourneymanGeek that's a conflict; The only way for bug to enter the list is by having the status review. So of course if it's not in the list it won't have status review.
head spins
@JourneymanGeek I... never really understood what is this and how it works.
Way too long and complicated for the simple me. :/
@ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar gets out the big board with the red strings
If its a subject on the list we status review it
if its urgent or important and can only be fixed by staff, we status review it
12:26
So in short.... way to excuse why something will not get into review. ;)
everything else is less likely to get retagged by a mod
Kinda
I mean for situations like math staying in read only mode its different
So this search bug with unicode isn't urgent and isn't important. So... bye bye bug report, you're useless.
Its unlikely to be looked at now
Need such a tag, or banner.
SO tagging it adds to the clutter
12:27
@JourneymanGeek now??? lol, so maybe in 20 years. Yeah.

Can I ask if there really is no Chat link in the footer of Stack Overflow?
Nobody looks at the footer.
There's a link in the hamburger dropdown.
It used to be on the header
@JourneymanGeek loooong ago lol
I've been here a long time :D
13:51
Can I call a problematic user a 'problematic user' ?
@JourneymanGeek Example: "You are a problematic user"
Uh
No
Absolutely not
I mean its tempting, but doing that "safely" is hard
As a mod sometimes I need to do it, but as a regular user, that kinda conflict will get you in trouble
13:55
(I am not going to try that...just asking XD) What about "idiot,cranks etc..."? They violate Be nice policy, right?
ehhh
I've regrettably and accurately used those phrases in the past
I'd recommend not
Can I flag a person who had said these?
14:16
@Wolgwang you can't flag a person.
You can flag comment or post with those words as unfriendly though, yes.
But keep in mind mods will be able to see your own comments too even if deleted, so if you took part in some words clash, you might get burned too.
(they don't mind who started, it's not kindergarten ;))
14:36
XD
@Wolgwang Thank you.
@ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar uses "With all due respect" to lighten the sentence of a mod
Actually, let me add "No offense, but-"
What @ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar said
@JourneymanGeek Sorry, I don't understand.
@for-the-love-of-soupless that's not a good shield, mods can see through this. "No offense, but you are an idiot" is still offensive and cause for suspension.
Actually it's the opposite, most of the times we'll see offensive stuff after "No offense, but..." beginning.
Reminds me somehow of all the newbies coming to whine on MSE about being question banned, waving their "But hey, I don't have any downvoted question!!!11!!!!!!" just to be "corrected" by a mod saying "Yeah you have some deleted downvoted questions".
Then the newbie says "Oh yeah, I forgot". lol
14:54
@ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar Hmm, sorry about that. That was sarcastic, to be honest because most of the time, using "With all due respect, ..." and "No offense, but ..." can lead to more offensive things when compared to statements without those intros
@for-the-love-of-soupless well that's my point as well, so we agree. ;)
It's an illusion, after all.
Life are an illusion...
Life is like soup and I’m a freaking fork...
@Wolgwang I'm lifeless then

Happy Nowruz!
Baba Nowruz!
Amu Nowruz (Persian: عمو نوروز, "Uncle Nowruz"), also known as Baba Nowruz (بابا نوروز), is a legendary character originating in Iranian folklore. According to the folklore, he appears annually at the beginning of spring, together with his companion Haji Firuz, to mark the beginning of Nowruz, the Iranian New Year. According to some historians he symbolizes Zal, father of Rostam, the hero of Shahnameh.On the eve of spring equinox, when the Iranian New Year is celebrated in the Iranian cultural continent from Albania in the West to Western China in the East, Amu Nowruz brings children gifts, much...

@ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar this image is so fitting. Someone that'd have something like that witch broth of a meal would definitely come up with that improvisation
@ShadowWizardSaysNoMoreWar waaaa

@Tinkeringbell there's a lot of hyperglycemia and diabetes involved

But also
C.H.O.C.O.L.A.T.E.
That's racist
Those sneaky Charcoalers
@M.A.R. Hmm. I may consider switching cultures....
@Tinkeringbell I am insulted by your implication. It's a religion with a well-defined divine entity!
I am sure all sorts of amendments agree with me
Except that second one. All that one seems to justify is use of lethal force
@M.A.R. we do a lil bit of sneaky-beaky ing

Ruby chocolate is a variety of chocolate introduced in 2017 by Barry Callebaut, a Belgian–Swiss cocoa company. Sacrilege!
Why don't you just go eat berries instead! Leave chocolate alone!
Sounds pretty tasty to me

Q: What is the best Stack Exchange community to ask about bullying?

Kobus MyburghI have been looking for a community that deals with bullies and bullying and the victims of bullying. I cannot find one, and I thought that it would be best suited to be discussed under "Parenting" or "Psychology" if it does not deserve its own community. Where can I find the correct community to...

TWP of course.
Maybe SO, some tags.
Wow. That is very hostile downvoting. Not sure why though - please enlighten me? — Kobus Myburgh 4 hours ago
Of course, how could I forget. We have 200+ sites for bullying.
Well, 180
@M.A.R. Oh that's even better! I'm currently religion-free so I wouldn't have to switch anything!
Sha's Wikipedia article made me think it was a cultural thing, apologies!
@Tinkeringbell Wait
Now you're putting me in an awkward position of not being able to tell which parts you took seriously and which parts you didn't

Last night I had a epihany, I finally found where Glorfindel found the inspiration for his nickname.
@Luuklag You've been watching LoTR?
21:23
@DavidPostill Listening it on Spotify as audiobook
While I was sewing, so I can keep my eyes on the needle ;)
22:18
@Luuklag What are you making this time?

@Luuklag ._.
Glorfindel (IPA: [ɡlɔrˈfindɛl]) is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien's Middle-earth legendarium. He is a member of the Noldor, one of the three groups of the Calaquendi or High Elves. The character and his name, which means "blond" or "golden-haired", were among the first created for what would become part of his Middle-earth legendarium in 1916–17, beginning with the initial draft of The Fall of Gondolin. His name indicates his hair as a mark of his distinction, as the Noldor were generally dark-haired. A character of the same name appears in the first book of The Lord of the Rings, The...
