I got Deputy today... it's pretty easy to build up helpful flag counts just by hanging around the site and flagging the off-topic/spam messes

@Wolgwang it is, but... it's complicated I'll try to explain. Essentially, there are two "sets" of chat rooms, each set has its own sort. One set is the ordinary chat rooms created manually, or automatically. The other set is the "1 on 1" rooms, i.e. via this button:

This set is less "important", so it will appear after the ordinary chat rooms.

The room you linked to started as one on one chat room and later changed by one of its owners.

So, the room was bumped, inside its own set of rooms. :)

We undeleted it, and it got four reopen votes and just needed one more at the time.

@ColeValleyGirl Everything you haven't used for the past year and everything where you didn't even know you had it, can go. For 'sentimental value' things, try and see if you don't have multiple things for the same sentimental thing, and try to keep only the one with the most memories :)

@Rob Most of your declined flags recently were comment flags. Having handled some of them... the problem mostly seems to be that you're flagging replies which push back to your own comments to be deleted while leaving your own/comments (dis)agreeing with something in a post without editing. Sadly, mods can't leave feedback with comment flags like we can with post flags, so I understand this may be confusing.

Hopefully, this helps. It's however, not an encouragement to just go deleting all your comments just to get the replies to be deleted as well. ;)

(I don't think there is a formal audit, though mods can alway be asked by users or CMs if either doesn't understand why things went the way they went, and mods are usually open to changing if the arguments are good enough)

The one flag is for the whole stream of back and forth or a single comment that isn't relevant - I don't put up half a dozen flags when the person writes a half dozen comments (each a sentence or two long) in a row. I expect that whoever is altered will clear out the thread (or single comment) as they see fit - frequently it seems to deny the flag and just leave it. --- You could respond to @bad's ping and delete whichever without me having to flag them, they're flags should be enough to see

That's fine... I explained what I saw when handling your flags, which definitely wasn't a single custom flag saying the whole stream could probably go, but individual no longer needed flags on replies to either one of your own comments, or comments under one of your posts, without the original comment those people were replying to being deleted or the original post being edited.

That's what I noticed a few times, I'm also not saying you're always doing this, you have enough helpful comment flags to easily disprove me if I were to attempt to make such a claim :P

I do find it sad however that you decided to bring this up basically when it's already too late and your no longer interested in flagging almost anything, and perhaps that's why I decided to reply.... I probably should've thought about sending a message sooner but do know that you can always ask 'why was my flag here declined, I think the comment is really no longer needed?'

It's hard I know! I've been doing mostly the same lately in preparation for moving... Threw out a bag of fabric scraps and still regret it XD But they have been in the same bag, in the same corner of my room, for 14 years or so and I never once used it...

Thrown out old cellphones, chargers, cables, a whole bunch of clothes and accessories... Also a whole lot of hoarded assorted kitchen stuff that I know I'm just going to get brand new once I get the keys to the apartment, because the colors are rather childish and the quality just crap... It's improved my room a lot, it's more organized and less cluttered at least ;)

@GWarner that is with chat flags (where lots of mods might show up), not on the main site where you flag posts and comments.

IMO the basic minimum expected from moderator is just visit once a day, take a glimpse. But maybe it's just me... ;)

Of course mods can be on vacation, so sometimes several days are "fine", can't know. But still.

Yeah 2 months not even bothering to visit is, for my humble opinion, safe sign that user should not be moderator and should be replaced by active user.

And we're no longer in the Big Mod Strike era, so there's no real excuse as far as I can tell.
