@Tinkeringbell It is the ham plant, I am surprised you never saw that before. Where did you think ham came from? Pigs?

@SPArcheon Well I prefer mine with less leaves, that's for sure.
leaves? leafs?

It is a close relative of the pasta plant that is cultivated in Italy.

I prefer strawberry trees.

if I am not mistaken.....
Yep, memory still works. The "Ham Rose" from Toriko. :P
@Tinkeringbell you say that only because they are red....

True. Though home-grown strawberries are often a lot sweeter than bought ones, I really prefer them.
I've been thinking of getting myself strawberries, blackberries and raspberry plants for my garden.

4:18 PM
@Tinkeringbell true enough. The only drawback for us is that we keep finding nymph ticks in the damn things.

That, or make the garden one filled with poisonous plants XD

Well, they're not poisonous exactly, but definitely discouraging...

@Ollie Oh, no... I mean I might want something like en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Alnwick_Garden#Poison_Garden

@Tinkeringbell a good choice.

Yeah, though I'm not sure how deadly I can make it while staying within legal limits XD

4:24 PM
"Do not shelter since the rain that just falls from the leaves is caustic too".

@SPArcheon Those are going to be placed instead of a fence, definitely. No more worrying about kids tresspassing!

@Tinkeringbell naaaaah, that could get you in danger.

Yeah, you're right. I don't think I'm allowed to plant trees: They can limit the view/light into the upper neighbors home.
That means I still need another way to heavily discourage any cats and kids from tresspassing into my backyard though!

But no one can argue you planted a big bush of Urtica dioica....
That is great for soups and infuses.

Ehh, nettles are boring.
Might do in a pinch though, but they don't kill.
I think I want at least deadly nightshade.

4:32 PM
@Tinkeringbell Rafflesia? But then YOU have to live with it also....

I could pick something with a lot of pollen and hope a few neighbors have hayfevers?
Ragweed seems a good candidate: "The pollen remains airborne for days and can travel several miles, affecting some 75 percent of allergy sufferers and creating cross-allergies with foods that have similar proteins, including cantaloupe, banana and watermelon"

@Tinkeringbell How old are the children you have to keep away?

20

@SPArcheon <18, though <20 is cool too :P
@rene knows me too well :P

:D

4:37 PM
over 12?

Yeah, I'm expecting there to be kids that are >12 as well. In fact, those might be the major problem makers...

you could fill the garden with pink stuff, unicorn statues, fairies and some garden gnome. Turn it in a fairyland.

If you're going to have unicorns you must have waffles.

The above 12 range will escape because most will be like "I am grown up now I can't play with this"
use the "shame factor". To quote Lewis, they are in the perfect age range.
Too old for fairy tales but too young for reading those again
As for the smaller ones that would actually like the thing.... I suspect they would be the LESS annoying ones at least.

okay, now that I bumped this with an answer, someone make the title more useful please :)

4:43 PM
"Where to ask this C# question"? ;)

@SPArcheon Yeah, no thanks. I definitely want plants, they help cool things down.

@bobble Did the do. Tell me how it looks :)

power nap accidentally... in the late night :/

@Spevacus better :D
I originally clicked on it because of the awful title, actually, didn't plan on answering. I have a special grudge against non-useful titles

I've heard tale of folks who wished you could title your post after writing up the body for that exact reason.

4:51 PM
Some people will still post with titles "IQ qusetion, plz halp!" (Puzzling) or "What does the sentence in bold mean"? (Literature) :p I shall FIX THEM ALL!

SmokeDetector probably means "comment" instead of "answer".
