@GWarner three - for chat strikethrough

Gmorning sir. Dont get testy
So if that syntax isnt shown in a site bar I likely cant use it?

When in doubt, just check the help, I do!

Q: Comments should support the strike element

tvanfossonI wanted to add the following comment to this answer: Yep -- everyone on meta should use a greasemonkey script to block the meme question from the front page so that the name changers can crap in everyone's sandbox have their fun. Heaven forbid that a moderator try to help the community as a ...

@GWarner ^

It was an answer. And wouldve been helpful to show the corrected mistake

One of the oldest requests, never done.

I would deny that request based solely on their insolent reasoning for it

@GWarner better than Drawback.
@Wolf ok we got it you can stop oneboxing the same post over and over.

I played this online game back in the BBS days. And unruly players were placed in a Limbo room. Nothing to interact with.

ok

I found a sandbox room the other day.. I need to check History and bookmark it

@GWarner omg poor souls. Worse than jail.
@GWarner in chat? You have this.

They could read descriptions (we IMMORTALS wrote the room with an abundance of them)
But there were no NPC's or other players in the same room.

And as a moderator I have less time to write posts :)

Hi. I have been going back and forth about posts/comments/answers. I need to understand something better.
It was suggested if a comment in a post is no longer useful then I should flag it. Two things: I thought flagging was only for serious issues, since it pings all moderators. And since I can delete my own. Isn't flagging others comments for whatever reason violate their right to comment? (Regardless of the value of the comment)
I have been getting into plenty of discussion through comments, even on posts that originally asked about how to better remedy the SE solution to move it to chat. Just for the sake of the discussion for future reference I can see preserving the question (even if closed), but is oftwen filled with extra comments that are now of no use to the flow of the post.

> Comments are temporary "Post-It" notes left on a question or answer. You should not expect them to be around forever. Once a clarification has been made, an edit added to the post to include new information, or the issue in the comment is otherwise resolved, it can be deleted. Additionally, any comment that violates the comment guidelines listed above or the Code of Conduct is subject to deletion.
> In reality, on most sites, many since-obsolete or guideline-violating comments don't end up being deleted due to the high volume of comments posted, but this does not mean that they can't or shouldn't be deleted in the future.

If you encounter a comment that has since become obsolete or that violates the commenting guidelines above or the Code of Conduct, you can flag it for deletion.

Also, consider reading the comment privilege, particularly the "When shouldn't I comment?" section if you haven't. Some types of comments are just not useful and worth deleted.

hi

5:27 PM
@DavidPostill TY. I understood I should only flag comments that violate CoC. Not fluff. My case in point is the question a user had only addressed a small part of a problem. That through comment discussion had been ironed out. The idea now is remove the comments that arent useful in the resolution for future reference.
I will be reading those now.

TL;DR: you can flag.

Q: Is it OK to casually flag comments as obsolete?

zoulEspecially under the lower-quality questions thereโ€™s a lot of comments that request further information about the question et cetera. To these the question author will often reply with several comments more instead of editing. I usually edit to add the details to the question, which makes the com...

@Wolf SMH
thanks i hope i dont get blackballed flagging some comments,
can you unstar a pinned comment?
All those moji comments.. ugh. we shudda been in the sandbox

5:40 PM
@GWarner Only if you starred it

okay..

A room owner can do it for you.

funny playing with fonts. i discovwered I cant send them. but apparently can cut and paste them...
im going back to yesterdays transcript
they are correct in archive as well
someone stared my cut and paste and The Unicorn Waffle Crew converted my nulls into Moji while I slept.
well im off (literally, and mentally. Happy Father's Day dads!

@GWarner you can't pin comments, so I assume you mean if it's possible to clear stars from chat message, and the answer is yes, RO or mod can do it. If you feel uncomfortable with a starred message feel free to link to it asking someone to clear the stars. There are enough people here who can. Just don't flag it, that's already too much. Cheers!
