Maybe it's the drought here in Colorado, but... I've been thinking a lot about water lately. In our society, water is simultaneously essential and a menace, a problem to be dealt with and a treasure to be chased after. Water doesn't care what you want. Personally, I find thought-provoking existing answers more motivating than bounties.

My gut feeling is that a question which gets 10 answers is more likely to get an 11th than a question with 1 and a bounty is to get a 2nd.
