At least they ask if their understanding is correct, rather than arguing that you are mistaken; in the face of the facts.

Many times throughout history government officials have deleted something; only to have the admin undelete it and present the information at their trial.

@Rob facts can be tweaked, twisted, and be faked in those times.

Rob
@Shadow10YearsWizard So, you're a Linguist? 😲

@Feeds This so much reminds me of a certain user...
08:27
@Tinkeringbell there is plenty of meat to choose for you: agriholland.nl/nieuws/bericht.php?id=227297
@Luuklag Well I don't know which Plus they visited, the one around here has only the expensive chicken...
Rob
Rob
You know what's wrong with cheap chicken? - PETA Video
@Rob I'd rather not start this debate. PETA is very good in video editing...
Rob
Rob
That's why I specifically mentioned the source. It's true of anything. Do you want to buy a bridge, how about a brand new Mercedes Benz in mint condition; perfect working order, only $5000 - There's a certain amount you must pay @Luuklag, otherwise something is up.
08:41
@Rob The most important thing that's up with cheap chicken is farmers being underpaid.
Rob
Rob
So that not only makes it fair, but ensures proper conditions for the animals.
@Rob Farmers always take care of their animals, as very simply it's expensive to have animals that aren't well
They only get paid after they deliverd their animals to the butchers, at which point a price is negotiated
The costs are already made, as you pay for feed and bedding etc.
veterinary bills the works
But at some point it becomes too expensive to keep the animals longer to wait for a better price
as they need more and more feed
Rob
Rob
Looks like you are also underpaid, for this sage advice.
Also the butchers will only take animals that are too large for a low price, as they don't meet supermarket criteria for the ideal size of a chickenbreast for example
So there the farmers are cought in the middle
Rob
Rob
08:46
Ask them to send you the chicken from that video.
If the farmers can't earn a certain amount of money they would only remain a farmer for the love of farming, certainly not for the money.
@Rob Well every now and then they earn some. But yeah basically the last is very true
For them it isn't just a job or a company, but its a way of life
If you calculate how much they earn per hour worked, their severely underpaid.
Rob
Rob
Decades ago when I left the computer industry, because people didn't want to pay $100's of dollars per hour (and many were willing to work for next to nothing), I simply took up a different profession; and now benefit from inexpensive computers.
@SonictheK-DayHedgehog Nice comparisson between poverty line and age of consent
Rob
Rob
If the farmers grew Ginseng (as one example) or Llamas (as one other) they would still be farmers and earn more. --- If they raised free range organic fed Kobe chicken they could earn more and still be chicken farmers. --- If they raised donkeys and sold them for a high price they would not sell their ass for cheap.
Very true Rob, but the problem is finding someone willing to buy that stuff from you.
Rob
Rob
09:02
Well there's the balance of adjusting your cost of production to include finding the elusive purchasers versus the cost of simply selling for too little; and obviously not charging extra to sell for less (defeating the low cost). --- It's easy to find people who want something for nothing, or very little, but what is the value in that; equal, very little.
GTG for an hour.
@Luuklag I think the ridiculous part is how much supermarkets earn. Even the meat with a 'keurmerk' doesn't necessarily mean the farmer gets more... just that the farmer was made to live up to more rules/make more costs/pay for the 'keurmerk'.
@Tinkeringbell He earns more money grossly, but that doesn't necessarily equate to a higher net earning indeed.
I saw it when I was working at the garden store as well, we'd get new plants, and our prices would be 220% of what they were bought for... For plants.
You know, they don't eat?
they do take nutrients ;)\
Well, we didn't give them any fancy nutrients, just water ...

Boss buying burgers, any suggestions?
most expensive one ;)
looks good
Called Tokyo Classic
09:40
Cause tokyo is all about shrooms...?
What happens in the Tok, stays in the Tok. Yo!
10:10
@Luuklag Super Mario Burger.
I thought those mushrooms were chunks of meat at first. Now I'm disappointed.
Well
it could all be made of cake
I had cake for breakfast today.
My mom is doing a weird diet from a cookbook, and apparently a piece of cake was the evening snack yesterday but could also substitute breakfast this morning...
0_0
sounds like a perfectly sensible diet
@Tinkeringbell So, you came from the Unhinged set?
10:17
@JourneymanGeek Yesterday was lasagna. That's never sensible XD But the good thing is that some of it has meals that actually use herbs and spices besides salt.
!!! Tim Hildebrant! That's a name I have not heard in years
@Νеvеrꭑoꭇе I can relate to that one :)
(If memory serves... he's half of a pair of twins who did a lot of iconic RPG art, including on old mechwarrior/battletech)
@Tinkeringbell I should share this one too then...
Half Tinker, Half Sonic.
(yep, oddly this was in the google results for "carnivore parrot" too)
Anyway, unrelated
Any clue why the Winter Bash site is orange?
Seems more summer than winter. Do they plan to finally use the old rant/joke "it is summer in the south hemisphere"?
If that's the case, could be funny for once.
10:38
@Luuklag no idea, maybe just random... :D
10:52
@Νеvеrꭑoꭇе Because winters are orange in some parts of the world (e.g. mine)
@Νеvеrꭑoꭇе I get the feeling it's just to get more of a kindergarten vibe... the numbers match too XD
I'm more wondering why there's a mintgreen bird XD
:D
wearing a hat.
though
a red parrot would be too well camoflagued, which is something you would never expect of a parrot
serious question - why are the digits low rez images while they're popping up and only switch to their full scalable vector glory when they stop? Fix pls.

Was this allignment reported as bug before?
I might have done it, but can't seem to find it.
I've seen a lot of alignment / responsiveness bugs but I don't recall this one
so, ulrs like cdn-prom.sstatic.net/WinterBash/js/wb-core-incl.js have been pulled down.
this one still works though.
kept for reference or just forgotten?

Q: Duplicate post notice sometimes overflows box

@Luuklag Yes, and with the same culprit; not that we can search banners to find it - I think it was on the full width (not mobile) view.

This was also on responsive design for me @Rob
Culprit question: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/357145/… closed by the hammer of @Shadow10YearsWizard

Probably works for long tags with shorter names too: stackoverflow.com/…
13:10
@Rob not able to replicate in FF on computer
Here stuff wraps nicely:
Hmmm would it be that it allows no linebreak between the badge and the wielder, so that the combination of the long name of @Shadow10YearsWizard and the long tag makes problems
Rob
Rob
My rep is too low for me to see there, but I was testing the theory on MSE; and couldn't find any. Still, I could try Space, Astronomy, etc., where I think that there's some long names and tags.
Guess it all depends on how you look at it, FF Android, portrait view:
There's three separate bugs.
I see one, please tell the other two ;)
I think the exact number of bugs exists in superposition, only their total effect has been observed

@Shadow10YearsWizard Do you ever wield your dupe hammer on a long tag on SO?

Weird that it breaks after k-day, yet still OOB, while not breaking after Wizard or Year's; thus avoiding one of those instances.
@Rob good point

^^ is his longest hammer @ping!
On SO it's JavaScript.
Hi every one.
14:11
@Luuklag yeah yeah, blame me.
:P
@Luuklag got only one on SO (javascript), and think I used it only once or twice.
@xdtTransform hi!
Nah the feature-request is to blame
@Shadow10YearsWizard okay, so no testing there ;)
@xdtTransform hi!
Done 😁

So it can be reclosed for the correct duplicate, as commented by the OP.
15:29
@Shadow10YearsWizard because of the edit it no longer is a dupe
meh
I'm still not sure, but won't/can't do anything more about it. :)
so... let's see.
Shadow, don't you dare telling about the source :P
> Since moderators should not do such things, most likely such request will be rejected though.
@Tink this part is for you ^
:-D
I learn the hard way. ;)
@Νеvеrꭑoꭇе whistles innocently
15:45
@Shadow10YearsWizard a fifth vote is a not a hammer :D

1 hour later…
16:45
@Shadow10YearsWizard Huh?
Why should we not do such things, that's a rule I missed... if there's an embarrassing typo or one that's causing confusion (wrong pasted link)...
@Tinkeringbell refund a bounty just because a typo? That's not really a critical issue that requires moderator time.
We don't normally refund bounties - but that's the one case we would if we think OP is requesting in good faith, and it was soon after the initial bounty creation
@Shadow10YearsWizard sometimes we need something easy to do
@Shadow10YearsWizard It's also not something regular users can do, which at least means I can't decline such flags for not needing moderator intervention.

Hi! Nobody helped me with this problem. May I ask people here interactively?
So there is good question on ru.SO. https://ru.stackoverflow.com/questions/1210323/ . So id is 1210323. When I send `https://api.stackexchange.com/2.2/questions/1210323/upvote`with headers: `header = {"site": "ru.stackoverflow", "key": KEY,
"access_token": TOKEN}` I get `{"error_id":404,"error_message":"no method found with this name","error_name":"no_method"}`. How to fix it? Am I doing something wrong?
Oh, sooooorry, I fix it finally. And guess what? added additional unneeded space to the request ;DDD
18:27
@Tinkeringbell Ooh!
Cute :)
I like mine better though :D
@Tinkeringbell So does Duck#2. Can't you see the heart?
;)
Ahhh, sorry. That duck is already taken ;)
No duckfights please!
18:35
@Tinkeringbell It's totally your fault. Pets are not allowed in the Tavern.
With the exception of our Canine Overlord.
I'm... a parrot? And as you can see I'm chubby enough to not be able to escape predators in the wild, which means I'm a pet too!
Oops.
Yeah.. you shouldn't make many of those mistakes, I guess :P
Very well, pets are allowed in the Tavern.
\o/
Please meet my pet spider!
18:38
Errrr
//\(oo)/\\
@Tinkeringbell Is that why there are cobwebs everywhere?
Now I know who to blame. Moderators, I demand justice!
No, he's a good spider, cleans up after himself!
Oh wait...
@Tinkeringbell That's good. I used to have a huge spider living in my garage, and it was constantly leaving fly/earwig/bug husks all over the floor.
There aren't any huge spiders in this country. The ones we have are just big enough to eat a mosquito.
Yeah, I don't have such an adventurous job...
19:14
there are no poisonous spiders, and all spiders are venomous.
OTOH, the Brazilian wandering spider is kinda scary.
@Ollie Maybe, but not sure. So plain deleted.
@Tinkeringbell Thanks ;)
Now, shush. I'm following an online class ;)
Although can be closed.
@Tinkeringbell Sorry.
:D
19:24
No worries :P Just being silly, if it's really bad I should've left the chat ;)
Lecture is interesting though :D
I'm doing the same on a cybersecurity lecture.
Or was.
'cleveringa' lecture here. It's a series of lectures my former university gives each year to commemorate the speech given by Cleveringa at the start of WWII.
This one is about archaeology, we're now handling moral communities.
I'll buzz off briefly
Ta!

Rob
Rob
Nat him.
Well, they've only currently got an account on AskUbuntu (that I can see), and I've mod flagged 'em. Even for that troll, would alerting JNat be worth one account?
Rob
Rob
As you can see from the post they are reading this, so let's not discuss the subject.
@Ollie Cesar just nuked it for me
@DavidPostill Got it. Also, I can see the "Delete" mod shortcut when reviewing VLQ posts.
Is that a bug, or intentional so I don't have to click Recommend deletion?
@DavidPostill Oh?
21:03
@Ollie Gone :)
@DavidPostill Uh-huh.
