To be honest, can't blame those people.
The first lockdown was fine, and made sense. People actually stayed at home.
This one? Much less so. It's a total chaos, in all levels.
And the biggest issue is that many politicians and celebs point their middle finger and do whatever they like, without being punished.
Including ministers, the police chief, and many many more.
Though money-wise, it's the same as the first lockdown: no compensation to businesses or freelance people, not even a penny. So they also start to "rebel" and open this week.
@ShadowWizardWearingMask Oof. Oh well, same messes here, I guess. We're up to 6k new cases a day but it seems like no-one is caring. I think people even managed to make mouth masks political here, like they are in America.
@Tinkeringbell oh, ouch. Face masks here are still "neutral" and most people use them, even while protesting in other ways. As for new cases, we peaked at 11k per day, then lockdown began. Now at 1k to 2k new cases per day. And we have only 9M people, so the 11k per day was insane.
@ShadowWizardWearingMask Oof, 11k on 9M is a lot! We're at 6k on 17 million, I think? But it might get worse before it gets better if people don't behave and the government refuses to make them behave...
@Aibobot yes, but colors mean amount of restrictions, red doesn't mean full lockdown on the city, i.e. people can still walk outside almost freely. It means no schools, and many workplaces closed.
@YaakovEllis You have exact numbers? All I have is a color for the entire province, I don't think we can even get numbers for e.g. the town. I would love to know though...
@Tinkeringbell there is a whatsapp and telegram group run my local municipality, where they give us updates numbers on all of the towns in the area, every night

@YaakovEllis yeah, the mental damage to the kids who stay home is something nobody really think about, but it's there. The results will show only years in the future, and it won't be nice. Plus, hard to work from home with kids.
I guess it's one of those cases where 'if you get a certain reputation, people will be more hesitant to help you'? Or did everyone just keep answering?
@ShadowWizardWearingMask Not a good idea to buy an iPhone that is locked against updating - never heard of such a thing. Even phones you don't own get updated here.

@ShadowWizardWearingMask Yes, but after jailbreaking, and breaking the ability to update, you can fix that, and be able to update again. Any temporary un-jailbreak-ability caused by updating is offset by having a phone that works.

To be fair, 'fun' bots don't have much use besides running them in your own room. Most more 'serious' rooms wouldn't want users playing with them. Smokedetector has a few fun commands, but it also has a very serious purpose.

@Wasabi Oh, SObotics isn't for making entirely new bots I guess, I just pointed you towards it because it has some existing ones you could help out with, if you'd like.
If you want to make one from scratch, I wouldn't know where to start either.
Honestly if anyone knew, they would've said so by now. We're not as mean as to not say something. But if you know 0 about coding, the start is probably to fix that a little first.

I think you already know the answer to that question. I know that you've seen various bots throughout SO and SE... Smoke Detector probably being one of the higher profile ones. They are (or at least most are) open source. So... download their code and modify away?
Oh, it isn't but it's helpful to start understanding some basic code concepts before trying another language. And you can make the brick run Java, we did that when learning how to code.

And no, I don't go to MIT. It's a horrible commute from Washington to MIT. I actually only take a 25 hour commute to Stanford. Traffic can sometimes make it 30 hours. I honestly don't commute often because I have a college dorm there.
