@FélixGagnon-Grenier That was more than a few decades ago, back when dancers didn't have tattoos, so I would race to the bar and drink a few pints; but yeah people were pretty high and we could run well so we didn't get caught smoking. College wasn't nearly as good because the Campus Pub frowned upon dancing, otherwise it would have been more popular.
Looking for some quick advice; every post I make gets quickly downvoted once or twice, but then after that I don't get any more downvotes. There's never any comments, even when I or others post a comment asking for comments. Is it normal?
@jgn Not much you can do about it for better or worse. Just improve your answer when comments are made of course as best you can. It's also hard to say why it might be. It could be for so many reasons. One of the underlying foundations of SE is that people's votes aren't controlled for specific reasons (even though downvotes do have an intended purpose)
@Rubiksmoose Well, like I said there are no comments, and it's only 1 or two as soon as I post, never after that. So long as it is normal then that's fine. Obviously I'm more aware that everything I post gets downvoted than I am of whether everything everyone else posts gets downvoted :P
@jgn Yeah it happens to me as well. Not every post for sure, but definitely plenty of mystery unexplained downvotes. Definitely irritating but you get used to it more or less.
@πάνταῥεῖ what is the procedure if two users clicked lost soul simultaneously? The one that comes last removes their comment? Now we both deleted the comments... :/
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog He was a statistical outlier, to say the least
@jgn well, downvotes happen to everyone, and everyone gets frustrated about them (even the cool "I don't give a damn" attitude is itself reflexive of this for almost everyone, I guess) It's also notable though that reputation always increases, except for people who post so poorly they get banned
