@Feeds Explainxkcd mostly sorted out the issue: the number 2185 is used for both the Sunday update and for Monday comic, which is okay because the page title has the comic title appended. One can't get to Sunday update by forward/back navigation, but it's accessible from the list of all comics.

@canon There's a general agreement that mods won't do that in general, and there was also a discussion with mods about the chatroom going into effect before it did so, with explicit mod approval.

Of course there's no guarantee that will always be the case...

eh, i'd imagine getting some things deleted from that room would be a necessity, if it's just archiving all comments ever made there.

I asked him for examples of the type of "partial answer" he's talking about and the only things he referenced were discussion-oriented comments which were asking him questions related to his post.

I'm beginning to think SO should be split into two sites. Debugging.so and KB.so, where the former is for the quick debugging questions and the latter is moderated and migrated highly voted questions from the former. The main diff is that the former has no duplicate close, and wipes questions after a few months.

Also Meta.SO (the peaceful one), and Meta.Meta.SO (the noisy one)

meta was IIRC always intended to be the garbage dump to some extent. The place where discussions went off rails and only stayed within the textbook lines of civility

The issue is at the moment that the relationship between users and SE is getting rather toxic
