@JNat Can we please have this request implemented? This way, there wouldn't be a need for people to keep unprotecting it, given that every single new-user answer will result in automatic protection.
@ShadowWizard I didn't ask him to implement it, but to have it implemented. Similar to asking a property developer to build a new property; they aren't a construction worker but it gets built.
@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog best analogy I can think of is asking someone to convince his parents to do something. He can talk with them and have some influence, but only up to some point.
@EKons There's actually a few that may not meet the guideline of 'be your own creation' ;) But I have an entry there, so no flagging or deleting for me :)
@EKons Ah. Well, now everyone knows what a perfect mod I am :P
In other news... I'm reading a news article about that Chinese scientist that genetically manipulated some babies... Quote: "Het departement noemt de baby's "van buitengewoon afschuwelijke aard"." Translation: "The department calls the babies "of extraordinarily gruesome nature".". Quite a nice label to give a baby!
Hi everyone! My name is Tinkeringbell (or Tink for short) and I'll be your tour guide for today! Even though some people say time-travel is impossible, as an archaeologist I have to disagree. We're not allowed to disclose exactly how we do it, and we're not allowed to take passengers. I can, ho...
I'm afraid your names isn't James, and you don't own the copyright to that one, do you? Another such one (10k only) was deleted yesterday, as code should be written by you, not by someone else...
We have a networking tag which I just provided an excerpt for but looking at the questions and the word itself, that doesn't feel right at all. Shouldn't it just be network? Or even: burninate the thing?
@Tinkeringbell One quick question: For the re-use purpose, am I allowed to remove that copyright from the display? Maybe can have that in comments in the code..
I'd say if you have something good stick with it, no point trying over and over, and at this point chance of a new answer to reach top 25 is really really slim anyway.
@ShadowWizard I'm not sure....warning...for what? I'm just asking suggestions...I did not remove the copyrights and neither asking for credits for original work
The question got protected again. I'm gonna try again a different way:
@tinkertim @balpha @Nick_Craver The most recent contest keeps being auto-protected *every time* a new user answers it, creating work for mods, 15k+ users, and staff members. Can we please have https://meta.stackexchange.com/questions/318026/ implemented?
@ShadowWizard Well, I do have enough power to get an insight into SE's development process:
@sonic_gparyani @Nick_Craver Let me say it again: This issue was *not* missed. It was known, and we decided to release anyway.
FWIW -- I do disagree with the design, with or without pointer. If we continue to offer this functionality, it should work on e.g. phones (where Ctrl-V is not an option).
Well, we have enough people here to make sure the swag contest keeps being unprotected any time it get auto protected but yeah, it would be nicer to have it as a feature.
I clicked sign-up, entered my name, email, pwd and clicked register. The confirmation page tells me to click the link I got in the email. That is where I stop. What happens with those "accounts"
