@Magisch well actually if this is done by someone who knows what they are doing, it can actually work fine. I do have C# class with 10k lines.
(old code... Since then I learned to split code to many classes no worry... ;))
 
I may or may not have been guilty of writing a 3k line sql procedure back when I thought it is fun to do everything in sql directly
 
It's still fun, just illegal

@Magisch I've got a coworker who does that. I've quietly broken some of his code up and done things like cache results in Redis. But shhh
 
@Machavity no cache in SQL?
 
@ShadowWizard Oh we have that. Got a whole RDS instance with gobs of RAM. But Redis is often faster, and if the data doesn't change but maybe every 30 days it doesn't make sense to hit the DB every time
And I can use TTL to force it to refresh from DB on regular intervals
