@rene I've got less blurry pics of course, I did this one intentionally blurry especially for you ;-)

@Catija It's probably very convenient for you, having this remote job, because you have a soon-to-be 2-year-old child and a yet-to-be-born child to take care of, plus that job happens to be one of your favorite hobbies, right?

show everyone, who upvoted and downvoted their posts. Sit back and watch the SE version of world war III
after all, only few, like Skeet will be left with downvote privilege

brings popcorn and sausages

@OptimusPrime personally I'm more curious than teed off
If someone's unhappy with my posts, I'm happy to take a certain level of good natured critisism.
(or I decide you're not worth dealing with and do more fun things instead lol)

I forgot to say, show up/downvotes to new users <1000 rep

eh, I actually think the level of drama might be reputation independant

7:10 AM
The vote splits should be visible to everyone. #$.02

I wouldn't have a problem with that
that's a vaguely arbitrary thing

7:42 AM
@JohnDvorak there is user script for that

Does it work on the mobile site?

yes. if you can install *monkey on your mobile browser

I'm trying to write a script to remove underline from links on SE. So far I have the below - it's working for hovering over links and comments, but not post links - anyone know how to fix it?
var style = document.createElement("style");
style.appendChild(document.createTextNode(".post-text a,.post-text a:hover,.comment-copy a,.comment-copy a:hover,.wmd-preview a,.wmd-preview a:hover{border:none;text-decoration:none;}"));
document.head.appendChild(style);

my amateur attempt, which seems to work in Chrome, is:

user194636
(function() {
    'use strict';

    // Your code here...
    var style = document.createElement("style");
    style.appendChild(document.createTextNode(
        ".post-text a:not(.post-tag), .comment-copy a, .wmd-preview a:not(.post-tag) {text-decoration:none;}"
    ));
    document.head.appendChild(style);
})();

Some browsers apparently have a setting you can turn off.

Adding :not(.post-tag) fixed it, thanks. Curious why that would be.

@Dukeling I have absolutely no idea. Maybe it was the semicolon? This is my first ever userscript.

I had resisted adding TamperMonkey for years until this underline thing came along.

SO/SE is pretty much unusable without userscripts anyway (countless banners, sidebars, notifications, toasts), what's one more rule? a {text-decoration: none; !important;}user6655984 16 hours ago

user194636
It's possible that ^ is a more comprehensive solution but as I say, I have no idea what I'm doing with any of this so 🙃

The comment link helper is too useful for me. Raw links are too ugly.

user194636
Yes indeed there are many fine userscripts, especially for moderation. I had resisted using any of them because I could never be sure what I was seeing was intended by SE.

Now that the new 'theme' seems to be being beta tested on meta.se and some other main sites, I have changed my mind about it.

user194636
All seems rather ad hoc if I'm honest.

I started by removing the permanent flag and upvote buttons from comments.
Maybe I don't like change, but maybe these new changes are just ugly.

user194636
It is certainly possible

user194636
I've noticed today that upvoting a comment leaves an ugly border around the up-arrow after clicking.

user194636

That is pretty ugly, although at least that only shows up occasionally, and you can click elsewhere to make it disappear, unlike the other changes.

@TemaniAfif If you're talking about upvote/flag, it's intentional. They're now buttons and they're inheriting styles from the .s-btn class. It was one option to make them keyboard/screen reader accessible. — Brian Nickel ♦ 17 hours ago

Terrible idea of the day: make screen-reader support opt-in

2:16 PM
Worse: make non-screen-reader support opt-in

user194636
(function() {
    'use strict';

    // Your code here...
    var style = document.createElement("style");
    style.appendChild(document.createTextNode("a {text-decoration: none !important;}"));
    document.head.appendChild(style);
})();

user194636
now using that

user194636
I rather like the way it sort of says this whole issue isn't important

2:35 PM
I'm still having trouble identifying what I can click on. Can we underline the other links as well? — Dukeling 2 hours ago
