His role didn't quite exist - its a bit like how they're getting a directory of security.

But I suppose those are isolated flags (one on a post), no chance to result in deletion.

@HTTP what about it? Ideally, women won't need a special day to show their power... unless there will also be "Men's Day", "Non-gender-specific's Day" etc. But yeah... such day is still needed, I guess.

Q: How to tactfully acknowledge a woman on Women's Day?

Ankit SharmaToday is International Women's Day and I would like to tell the women who are around me and affect me "Happy Women's Day" as a gesture of appreciation of what they doing, they can be from my family or work or a friend or an internet friend. Because I believe that they are as strong as any men and...

@ShadowWizard and also women's day is not about congratulating women or a special day. It is a day when a great movement was started by women for their equality and rights. That movement sparkled Russian revolution. Due to change in the calender to Gregorian, that date fell on March 8. That is the reason we celebrate women's day

Q: Would having a romantic relationship matching feature be worthwhile?

two black lines in the middleI'm not personally interested in such a feature, but I just want to put forth the idea of an optional, possibly monetize-able, romantic relationship matching feature for SE users. Is this a bad idea? If so, why not?

@Derpy thankfully, we almost used a certain blockchain tech, but decided not to because it's not feasible nobody understood it.

and in the meantime, first articles are starting to pop up written by cryptography experts .... warning people that quantum computing is starting to become viable so this is is the moment to seriously start thinking how to handle post quantum encryption.

A: Why does ui-grid pagination look so crooked?

Anu SivanandIf you don't need this pagination controls, you can hide this by add enablePaginationControls false in gridOptions. And can use other components like 'uib-pagination' for external pagination.

Question: why is the default pagination so crooked up?
Answer: don't use it.
In my world this does not relate - it nowhere explains what the user asked.
Also, from my answer you can clearly see that there was an actual reason for the pagination to be crooked - missing .css classes.
The pagination isn't supposed to look that way, so an answer "don't use it because it looks bad OOB" doesn't apply and doesn't help the user understanding the issue.

1:08 PM
according to the rep history, the user couldn't comment at that time... but anyway... from someone who doesn't have a knowledge, it's still look like an answer: don't use it, use the alternative. Yes, it's probably a bad apple, but it's still an apple...

@JeremyBanks sounds like a scam

@HTTP So if I add an answer to that same question stating to "Switch to WPF instead" it is still an answer? Come on....
Please also notice that the question asker has replied to the answer by restating the original question : why does the default pagination not look like the samples on the site so that is the answer he seeks, not an alternative.

> The answer you flagged looks like an answer, and because moderators do not evaluate answers for technical veracity, there's no reasonable way that they can approve such flags on the basis of question content and answer context. NAA flags are simply not designed to do that. -- Sanity check on NAA flag?

To be fully fair, the question is formulated in a way that gives no indication that he needs an alternative. The user could already have switched to a different approach and be asking the question just for learning purpose / future reference.
@HTTP so, basically, this means that "the interface is bad, people does not fully review the context before handling the flag so provide the context yourself".
Ok, will try that then out of fun.
But let me say that when I go to any of the review queues the system expect me to understand the full picture or just press skip if I can't make a thoughtful choice.
I expect flags are handled the same way.

Well, I agree that the current flagging system is not without flaws
If you had commented like "this doesn't really answer the question because [blabla]", then you'd probably have a better chance, but still... not a sure-fire.

1:23 PM
As I said, raised custom flag. Expecting it to get declined too, will let you know in 6-8 months when it gets handled.

1:47 PM
other weird question. www.example.com is a canonical example url to be used in documentation papers and the such
doing a get request to the url will complete
is there a canonical url that would make a $http.get promise end up in a failure?
(I guess I may ask on SE, but I can already see someone answering to just use a non-existing url, which is not the point).

I just realized they have... secret pages? example.com/40 (error) example.com/404 (html source)
Some pages return error... but the URL pattern seems random

Q: Given any user- how to find out for which all tags he/she is the top user?

RickrossEach of the tags have top users, an asker and an answerer. For example, for the mythology tag, Keshav Srinivashan is the top answerer as well as the top asker. Similarly, for the scripture tag, Tezz is the top answerer as well as the asker. Now, Tezz is also the top answerer for the Purana tag...

Is there a way to find this? ^

SEDE?

it gives top tags of a user by not which tags a user is top.
and this one also.

Q: Is it possible to get tag-wise distribution of the votes that i have cast on questions?

RickrossSo, i basically want to know what percent of my upvotes were cast on questions that are tagged with a particular tag say-X, and what percent of my downvotes are similarly cast for questions tagged with a particular tag. Is it possible to generate such data?

AFAIK, This is not possible. Is it? ^

Shouldn't be. That could be problematic. As far as I'm aware, data about votes isn't stored anywhere publicly.

Yes, data about votes cast should not be made public. So, I wrote impossible in answer. That got no love.

2 hours later…
6:49 PM
@Catija the votes themselves are stored and available in the votes table, but creationdate (only date part stored) and userid are sanitized

7:02 PM
@rene I have also seen a user who posts troll comments and rude messages. He self deletes them before someone flags and mod arrives. The reason he gives for self deletion is they don't want anyone to reply to those messages. So he deletes them.

Flag them anyway...
I mean... flag something else with a custom flag and explain what's going on.
If the content is rude or trolling, the mods can still see what the messages said.

Does that flag go to all site mods or only the site moderator?

All sites. All chat flags go to all site mods.
... on the chat.se server... here they go to the CMs only and on SO they go to the SO mods only.

But site mods can see who flagged right?

Any mod can see who cast a custom mod flag.
Site mods can see who cast a r/a flag but only if they're in the room while the flag is un-handled.

@NogShine just kick and warn. It is extremely annoying, specially when I read back the transcript as an RO and I then have to check every frigging message to see what was posted. My stance: if you can't bare that message being in the transcript, don't click send in the first place. And that is what I tell those users that have a habit to delete messages after posting.

@rene There's a script that will show you deleted messages inline. I'm not sure if it works for ROs, though.

@Catija yeah, I have that installed, makes life a bit easier, but still ...

No arguments there. I said the same you did :P Flagging is the key.
You can't kick and warn if you're not a RO.
And if they don't learn, you'll eventually need a mod to suspend from chat.

@Catija No arguments? Who are you to decide that? youtube.com/watch?v=kQFKtI6gn9Y
