@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog It reported it, just didn't give you feedback in here. The Charcoal team has minimized what Smokey says in here so if you don't get a "you're not privileged to do this" message, it's safe to consider it reported...
@Catija Ah, was wondering that. I did a similar thing in CHQ and got an immediate return message
should smokey always report to the room where he was commanded from to report?
@JohnDvorak Probably a good idea for a
Tavern reports are delayed intentionally
00:26
The reports only populate in here after five minutes, I think?
Why should !!/reports be any different?
so that you get feedback to your actions
If you want feedback, the feedback can be turned on... doesn't need to have the report show up.
@Catija Then turn it on
FWIW manual reports have never bypassed the delay
It's not a bug
00:28
It's a FR, OFC
that report came it at :14 on the button
no dispute about that

Technical Communication... you can tell that a proposal is mostly SE / Area 51 regulars by comparing the activity of its main and meta sites. The number of questions: 25:9. Compare to Stellar with 113:13.
user315433
The site proposal was originally titled Documentation but was renamed because of a certain ill-fated experiment.
02:25
@if.... Actually, it was refocused later to cover things like oral communication, to prevent it from being closed as a duplicate of Writers.
@if.... Didn't Stellar reach 100% commitment within two days? Is that the record, if so?
iota, Stellar, what's the difference...

I'm glad that Meta has become more serious than it used to be under my previous incarnation. I was just having trouble with the jokes being cracked here all the time.

@Shog9 Does this still happen? If so, why don't I see this in the revision history, even on questions where it was publicly visible before?

@bluefeet as you have some access to the prod db now and a minute to spare would you mind giving me an hint here on how much the SEDE db size for StackOverflow is different from the production db size of StackOverflow? All numbers in bytes on disk.
@rene yup
StackOverflow		ROWS	358284928
StackOverflow_Log	LOG	49311744
there, stupid formatting
@bluefeet does that include logging since 2008 or so? That is way bigger then I expected.
@bluefeet thanks!
@rene that's a straight query of select name, type_desc, size from sys.database_files
OK
Edited those numbers in. Now we wait for the meta rep to build up ...

Just out of curiosity, what do you think of a proposal to allow moderators to mark a chat room as "do not freeze"?
In other words, prevent a room from freezing even if it meets the criteria
Why would you need that feature?
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog having it unfrozen is frictionless if you prepared for that upfront with a mod. We let the SOCVR Roommeetng chatroom freeze and then flag for a mod before the next meeting to have it defrosted.
It wouldn't need a mark or so, me thinks.
@Andy Several official chat rooms for certain sites get frozen unnecessarily (e.g. Area 51). Also, unfreezing doesn't count as new activity, so it's possible that a room can get frozen immediately after a mod unfreezes it
Also, The Assembly, a room whose one of its explicit intents is a place where you can request a mod to unfreeze any room, sometimes itself gets frozen
(Just a quick side question: are mods able to manually freeze rooms, or are all freezes automatic?)
Mods can freeze a room
@Catija Just received a strange email about a skeleton found at Pickle...what's happening?

1 hour later…
18:58
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog Eww?
I don't have any additional info... just what's in the email... there's a reason one of the streets at UT is "Robert De[a]dman Drive"?
sounds like if UT had a mod who'd been able to freeze the correct room you'd have a corpse instead of a skeleton
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog yes
> Skeletal remains have been found in what appears to have once been a transient camp in a wooded area on the West Pickle Research Campus, located 9 miles north of UT's main campus. There is no evidence of foul play.

Please avoid the West Pickle Research Campus area.

There is no threat to the UT main campus or the Pickle Research campuses at this time.
For the curious... There's not really much to it.
@Shog9 Or if UT was somewhere that actually froze?
@Shog9 "If so, why don't I see this in the revision history, even on questions where it was publicly visible before?"
If the answer is "because there's no point", then why was it previously publicly visible for a time?
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog it's not a publicly-visible revision entry
entirely possible it was for a while
I'd have to check

23:55
@ShadowtheHedgehogWizard Wha? My email was from animuson...
@Catija yeah, saw it now on PC too, saw it first on phone where there's no picture so didn't know it's him
In Israel it's common to change "unreadable" surname to something more simple.
@ShadowtheHedgehogWizard Ah, in India and here in the States it's common for the wife to change her name, while the husband's name remains the same. It's a rather sexist practice in my opinion, and I prefer the French practice of making no changes whatsoever
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog same here, what I did was uncommon.
But the moose became an elk, interesting.
