you only get the chicken hat by failing a few times tho

I still don't get the 57.1%... it should be 57.3% :/

2:24 PM
Oh! Turtles?!

lol
@Catija there is a game by Konami

the purple and grey is probably not a flag

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a side-scrolling beat-'em-up released by Konami as a coin-operated video game in 1989. It is based on the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series which began airing in the winter of 1987. Home versions of the game were released for various platforms. == Gameplay == The player chooses from one of the four Ninja Turtles: Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael. Depending on the version of the game, the characters are either, chosen at the start of the game or assigned by control panel. After Shredder kidnaps the Turtles' friend April O'Neil and their...

and why purple particularly...

Because it's just not good enough for violet.
Let alone ultra-.

I was thinking its another allusion to the banner
but nothing really matches
and that grey

2:38 PM
It's certainly a poll with 57.1% purple and the rest, 42.9% gray

cluck cluck Þoose
Hm, how do you make a bad gee?

@Chicken Cowabunga!

cpose?

@ShadowWizard that's a cow, not a chicken

@ShadowWizard No cow bung accepted, only dino drops.

2:41 PM
@AndrewT. chicken is a lie

the chicken is a turtle?

FOUND IT!

@ShadowWizard Of course it is, but it's also a lie with three-score and five million years of repetition.

This is Elevation Burger

not a pizza

2:44 PM
What makes it so high?

not drugs

all burgers got tons of fat, no secret there

if you mirror it.... maaaaybe

The rarefied airs of Olympus?

2:45 PM
So the poor chicken is going to be a burger. Shame.

Dinobunga!

Chelonians are quite far removed from theropods.
imagines on what will happen to the the egg-and-dairy industry once all our beef ranches get converted to ostrich ranches

really big omlettes?

Pizza sized ones, in fact.
One ostrich egg is equivalent to about two dozen chicken eggs, or whatever that works out to in metric.

2:53 PM
"where are there 10 eggs in my dozen?" "Metric moniseur. What are you, some kind of englishman?"

drôle
drools

(since the brits mix measures a lot)
miles, kilos, centimeters, stone...

Naw, you never mix measures. When's the last time you bought a two-kilo, five-ounce durian?
Wait, that was the ostrich egg.

We don't care about the brits. They are exit anyway ....

exeunt omnes sine meta

2:56 PM
@tchrist I don't think they weigh durians...
Well pre shucking anyway?
I donno

What color is the outside of a durian?
It's just like a horse chestnut, right?
conkers, if you prefer

putri malu (lit. shy daughter)

@tchrist its cream coloured
actually looks kinda custardy

Custard is nice.

If you can get over the smell, so's durian

3:11 PM
But are not taste and smell much the same thing?

oddly no
the durian smells TERRIBLE
but it tastes really good

I bought durian recently from a local asian market. I had to throw it away without being able to taste it, because the smell made me vomit :(
apparently you can't bring it on planes due to the smell

you can't bring it on trains or buses either...

nope
@Chicken not allowed in public transport, hotels....

4:13 PM
@NickCraver would it be possible to release an RC2 of Exceptional, pretty please :)

In 6 to 8 weeks ...

I see you're wearing the "effeminate" hat @rene :D

user345817
4:29 PM
@Chicken why is everything you say pinned

wrong chicken...

yeah, I did a (failed) experiment
I wish everything I said was pinned

@Chicken it is my Suske look ;)

@Feeds Do you know that Toyota Truck Month drifts out of sync with the iPhone calendar because of libration of the moon? Apparently there's a proposal to fix it, but it might be unconstutional.

> In Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, Mason Dixon is the leader of a government task force dedicated to stopping the worldwide crisis when tomatoes go bad.

is it bad enough to be funny, or just bad?

Such a guy would be useful in our country, given the stuff you can find in a supermarket

(oh, might be NSFW for violence/psychological)

5:43 PM
@SmokeDetector why bumped?

user315433
@AndrewT. The answer is new.

user315433
There was another one, since deleted.

okay, I blame Google Translate for saying "2 days ago"...

user315433
Heh, it's "29 minutes ago" right now (in Russian), but Google translates it as "3 hours ago".

Ko-Na might not be Konami, I don't know where the "mi" came from; I think it's referring to Kona, Hawaii
One of the clues might be a red herring, or a false clue intended to mislead

5:53 PM
Isn't that the same thing?

@JohnDvorak Isn't what the same thing?

user315433
"A, or B" is sometimes used to explain A as B in case the audience is unfamiliar with the term A

Or are you telling us what a red herring means?

@CrazyIvan That's right
@JohnDvorak Yes. Not everyone speaks the same dialect of English.

I'll have my herring raw

6:10 PM
Is that purple the same purple as Donatello? Not that it explains the percentage or the grey.

No it is not

@JourneymanGeek > 57.1% (four sevenths) of "Namibia" is "Nami", so Ko-Nami?
That makes more sense...

Ah, thanks.

Grr, there is no hat for getting review-banned after clicking "Looks OK" on an answer that is a better answer than most of extant ones on the same question.

@Catija sorry to disappoint anyone looking for a cleverer answer. :P
hello from Puzzling

@ffao No, actually it's brilliant.
I was busy trying to figure out why it was purple.
Welcome! I have a feeling that the Chicken is getting annoyed at the sluggish pace we're taking in regards to solving this mystery.

9:59 PM
doesn't look like we have much; at the beginning we have a series of posts depicting a chicken growing, then disappearing
followed by a series of messages suggesting something to do with Winter Bash (the hat reference, the chicken inside the banner, and the emoji version of the banner)
unless some of those have some extra meaning, I don't see how we could find it from these hints alone

Chicken inside a banner?
Oh, the one with 9 stars?

I was talking about the blurry picture one

Ah, yes.

I half-suspect someone at SE is just trolling us.
Is this your idea of a joke, @Nick?!

Nah, it's either Balpha or Tim. :P
