Kalady or Kaladi is a census town located east of the Periyar river, in the Ernakulam district of Kerala, India, not far from Cochin International Airport. It is notable as the birthplace of Shankara, commonly known as Adi Shankaracharya, and is a popular destination for Hindu pilgrims.
Kalady came to prominence only after its rediscovery in the late 19th century by the then Shankaracharya of Sringeri and the subsequent consecration of an Adi Shankara temple in 1910. The Centenary of Kalady was celebrated in May 2010 and the story of Kalady and its re-discovery a hundred years ago has been documented...
@Sinister you may be unhappy but it is the truth. SO have very very high priority when compared with other network sites including SO's close friends SU and SF
they once changed the company name from SE from SO but went back to SO soon
@redhand I agree that SO is parent of all the SE sites. There's no wrong when they give priority to it. I'm only unhappy because FR's and bugs regarding other graduated sites are acted lately.
hhh... when they killed the color on the review icon... I wish they bring it back, otherwise there's really no indicator of pending review even on smaller sites >_<

@redhand I have a degree in Film but it's difficult to work in the industry unless you have an "in"... and the schedule is horrible, so, no, I don't really work in the industry any more.
@redhand It's an odd duck. It's equivalent to being a recruiter, really... You do the outreach to find potential actors, do initial interviews of them and then the production selects which people they want to see again, you have them in (usually with the director/producer) and then they pick who is cast. Many people seem to think that the casting director picks the cast but that's really not true.
I took an Indian Cinema class... we watched about 10 films from all over and many eras.
@redhand We did about 10-12 feature films while I was working with the casting director but many, many commercials. That was most of our work. Commercials are quick and easy and pay better than film casting.
@redhand I lived in all major cities of India (New Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ahmadabad, Gwalior, Kolkata) and wherever I lived I tried to learn the local language. :)
... I don't know how much luck I'll have... it was 8 years ago. It had a guy in it who is extremely prolific... seems shorter, hairy chest, action-type film, but comedy.
