I notice that badges aren't updated immediately. Makes sense. Presumably SE sites have some kind of scheduled task for checking for and assigning new user badges. How often does this run? Waiting for my 100 consecutive days gold on SO :P
The schedule depends on the badge, but I believe that particular one gets awarded one hour after UTC 0:00, so in about 54 minutes. Be sure to do something that counts as activity, just in case.
With satellite, you get enough channels that you could just surf around the dial continuously. By the time you cycle around, all the programs have changed; now there must be something good on!
@Moshe: if you want to, and you can get something reasonable out of it. Don't feel impelled, though. It's a rant, and ignoring it is a reasonable response.
True. The only other multi-disc game I have for Xbox though is Mass Effect 2. Of course, I love that game, so hopefully this bodes well for L.A. Noire. I guess we'll see. :P
AFAICT, we don't have a [faq-proposed] or [faq] about the vote fraud detection process. Anyone want to do the research and write one up or hijack an existing q/a? /tiredandwantssomeoneelsetodothework
[faq] [downvote] "What to do if I get serially downvoted" A: "nothing. Write better questions or move on with your life. Downvote other questions that are crappy or edit them to make them better". But documenting what happens if someone serially downvotes a lot of your Q is not worthy of a FAQ, as that encourages circumvention.
also, how does that encourage circumvention? I'm thinking a faq with stuff already on meta: a script checks for suspicious behavior (we don't explain what that is), it happens routinely (daily?), other non-secret stuff
Someone has downvoted a lot of my questions or answers.
What should I do?
How does the system prevent this?
How often does the system look for suspicious behavior?

I've just watched by reputation jump over 100 over the past 5 minutes or so due to someone upvoting all my recent responses in a batch. Is there anything in place on StackExchange to try to avoid that kind of abuse? (Recognition is nice, but not essential. Systematic upvoting makes me feel spo...
I don't understand what you're at here man. If you want a tag synonym created, and you don't have the rep, then goto meta. If you do have the rep, then do it, but it would still help you to post it on meta.
Currently on SO I found more the one tag for Office Open XML:
ooxml (76), openxml (341), office-open-xml (0 so far)
Also Wikipedia lists all of them:
Office Open XML (also informally known as OOXML or OpenXML) ..
Maybe merge all answers into the single one?
@OctavianDamiean i was confused, since i m new buddy to Ubanutu i had used red hat linux in college days, there we have to mount the devices , that's why i asked whether i have to mount, if there what is the command to mount
In my game, does my player object control the movement, or does the map object control it? (Or some other object?)
The player doesn't know about the map's contents to stop at solids, interact with objects etc. Am I doing it wrong?
I've seen a spate of questions on Stack Overflow and elsewhere about downloading programming tools and where to find them. Sometimes developers can't find a download link or availability in their country. Rather than encouraging them to violate laws, I think general education for these users is o...
