jmac has no diamonds... and there is no Josh Maciel on company page anymore

user315433
His profile still says "Community Manager for Stack Exchange since July 2014."

user315433
The last comment, from August 21, didn't indicate anything unusual going on.

Can anyone answer this question?

Q: Does the 'answer ratio' stat include closed questions and answers with a negative score?

THelperIn the statistics of all launched beta sites there is one stat called 'answer ratio'. How exactly is this calculated? Is it simply the average number of (non-deleted) answers per question for a site? Are closed questions included in the calculation? And are answers with a negative score included?

@Gallifreyan Somehow off topic, but I was browsing artstation following the links you posted. Funny to see how this guy made a concept art screen for a Secret of Mana remake that looks far superior to the thing Square just annunced recently....

Bitcoin is 6 years old. Top question asked in the last year is Cryptocurrency Arbitrage - What do I need to know?, but much of recent traffic went to the older question Why is my transaction not getting confirmed and what can I do about it?

12:50 PM
@ShaWizDowArd no
But I was in a situation where I really couldn't see myself working there any more
My manager did an evaulation, and recommended I be confirmed and given a raise.
The higher ups decided to extend my probation and wrote a ... frankly insulting form letter essentially extending my probation to end of october, claiming my performance was poor.

When developers are deciding between job offers, they’ll weigh factors such as salary, growth potential, and work benefits. One important benefit for developers on the cusp of starting families will be the opportunity to take paid parental leave.

This policy is not guaranteed from company to company or even state to state. In fact, the U.S. is one of 41 countries around the world that doesn’t mandate paid parental leave for new parents. Of the countries that do, the law requires new parents to take, at a minimum, two paid weeks off. Because U.S. companies are not mandated by law to offer paid p …

time ago someone posted a link to a generator that would reduce javascript code to an equivalent form that used only "[] () ! +" characters
someone still remembers it?

looks like code obfuscator?

[][(![]+[])[+[]]+([![]]+[][[]])[+!+[]+[+[]]]+(![]+[]) ......
using javascript weird rules to produce a code that is basically a sum of empty arrays and the such.

looks like a job for codegolf.se or infosec.se...

Is IPS the most active beta site currently?

@Elias what does active mean?

@Elias It's right up there: stackexchange.com/sites#questionsperday
Activity tends to fall off after a few months, however.

Useless trivia for @ShaWizDowArd: hot network question clicks grouped by source and destination site over the past 90 days...

-1 not sorted

Interesting... though I crawl HNQ from any sites (e.g. open IPS from SO, then open Workplace from IPS, etc...)

sorting lists, tracking paths across sites... I feel that y'all don't quite grasp just how lazy I am.

7:02 PM
@Shog9 I can relate, I was too lazy to strip html tags in a SEDE query I did :D
Until like yesterday

Maybe you can offer to use cursors to sort it, just to annoy Oded ...

@rene huh? @Oded doesn't like cursors?
@Shog9 thanks! But why for me? @gnat for example would likely be much more thrilled from such trivia.... ;)
@JonEricson yep, after all the easy questions have been asked...

@ShaWizDowArd nope, it all needs to be set based operations.

@Elias oh... this explains a lot about @Journeyman then. We don't have such thing here. We do have "temporary" employees, but not in such a way.
It's clear signal "You're not good enough, we don't trust you", valid reason to want to quit. :/
@Elias rofl.... so sad that is overflows and becomes funny.... :D
@Magisch totally.... it's a miracle he's still alive then... lol

@Elias flight was the safest part of journey, then I had to drive on highway for more than 100 miles out of LA in a car model I have never driven before when I totally not sure of the traffic rule and the drivers drive on the 'wrong' side when I was totally sleep deprived.

7:16 PM
@Telkitty ouch... alone?? Sounds quite scary!
I did that too, but not alone. About 9 years ago...
Think I drove around 1000 miles in two weeks in USA.

I also drove 100 miles in LA but that was because I couldn't find the exit road of LAX ...

user202362
Amazing :p

lol
What did you do in USA? Business or pleasure? @rene
(for me only pleasure ;))

@ShaWizDowArd both, a week holiday and a week PDC

@rene good for you! And client paid for the flights?

user202362
7:21 PM
also got myself a new US sim, a power adaptor and other stuff

@ShaWizDowArd the boss paid, yes

@Telkitty sure, those are essential! So you now browse from your phone?

user202362
macbook

user202362
that's why I got the adapor

@rene boss? You weren't freelancer back then?

user202362
7:22 PM
15G SIM was for when I am on the road

@ShaWizDowArd nope

@Telkitty how much it cost?

user202362
something like $60 USD

@rene hard to imagine you as employee with boss.... you're a Free Flower! :D

user202362
I need internet

7:24 PM
@Telkitty no WiFi??

user202362
yes, free wifi here

@ShaWizDowArd my boss agrees. He still has nightmares ....

user202362
but when I am on the road, there is no in-car wifi :p

are you allowed to hold your phone while driving?

user202362
@rene that's why you drove 10 miles inside LAX :p

7:26 PM
LOL

user202362
I am actually staying 100miles away from LA

is this edit valid?

debates spam-blocking the suggesting IP as a test

@Telkitty along the coast or inland?

It almost certainly is valid. I can't remember off-hand how we implemented that, but the likely alternative would discard edits without warning.

7:30 PM
OK

user202362
this leg just along the coast, then I am going to drive back to LA, switch to a SUV and do the Las Vegas - grand canyon - yellowstone - banff - Seattle - SF - LA loop

Hey Shog
What view do you take on users trying to find serial voters on their own anyways

@Telkitty awesome!

Should that be left to moderators to do?

7:47 PM
@Shog9 looks really low for 90 days when actually looking into the numbers... only 51 clicks in 90 days in some sites?? How you collect this, using referer header?

Jan 18 at 15:03, by Shog9
Every time a HNQ is clicked, there's an entry created for the source and destination sites. This is also why figuring out what was clicked is less trivial; it actually would require digging through the request logs instead of just querying this data.

I thought https blocks the referer, no?
@Shog9 oh

That said, I should really check & see if that data is sampled - in which case these numbers are bogus and only the relative quantities have any meaning.

could you post that with a uniform seperator @Shog9?
I would like to order it but hand-inserting seperators is tedious

@Magisch you can fiddle with my fiddle

7:54 PM
eh...

I've already sorted it

Ah
Neat
I assume that's an internal database and not available through SEDE
Sad thing that normal users can't see that data. You must have some amazing opportunities for analyzing with a full dataset

@ShaWizDowArd ah, yeah - looks like it's sampled at 1%, so...

8:11 PM
multiply all of that by 100

8:30 PM
@ShaWizDowArd get your dirty cursors out of my relational database, you philistine.

@Shog9 so more useless than you originally thought... :)

@ShaWizDowArd well, useless is sort of absolute...

@Shog9 useful is the new useless then?
@rene how rude! hijacking my question like that!

Naw, I was accurate and remain so

@Oded 1) My cursors are clean! 2) I don't live in Philistines hence can't be philistine!
@Shog9 sure, if you'll be wrong the whole reality will fall apart so it just must not happen.... :D
