Would this be the place to ask about getting attention for a bug in the SE iOS app?
[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Link at end of answer: Trimming back hops by Growinghops on homebrew.stackexchange.com
@ExUmbris Getting attention for? It depends; if you catch a Stack Exchange developer around, maybe. But most of us are just regular users so we might be able to upvote but that's about it.
@hichris123 OK, thanks. I'll explore other possibilities.

@Derpy why search when all you need is an answer for your question ...
08:29
@Bart: I think I have the solution. @balpha will just have to implement an "assistant" that will parse the text of a question when it is first posted, do some natural language understanding voodoo magic, pinpoint the nature of the question that is begin asked and then scan all past question to find a match, show it to the asker and avoid to post the dupe in the first place.
Balpha is now in the position where he can just delegate that to some underling.
Yep, I know what you are thinking @Bart. If he could do that, he should just sell the algorithm to Google and use the money to quit working and go live on some far away tropical island, never to be seen again....
but I know his sense of duty will make him take the right decision in the end.
(Disclaimer: if you don't see me anymore in the next days, it means that an angry-balpha managed to catch me while I was asleep on my cloud. If that is the case, please send someone to rescue me from Stack Exchange salt mines)
The salt mines are a myth. There are only waffle mines.

@Bart with cobblestone chips?

@Derpy crunchy
@Bart .... I think I will just stick to muffins, thanks. I am not really fond of the idea to having to pay a visit to Colgate because I ate some "rock candies"

In this question, how did "Should we “Sympathy Commit” to a site proposal?" end up being in the linked questions in the sidebar? I don't see any way those were linked on either side. Please pardon my obsessive curiosity.

A: Finding a gold ring lost in the house

ssaltmanI think there is only one way that is pretty sure to work. One by one, empty each room of every object. You'll need an empty room or a large clear area to stage removed objects. An alternative to this, though less reliable is to picture each room as a grid. Work methodically through the grid, ...

A: Finding a gold ring lost in the house

Topher BrinkThis may seem very silly but call for it. There have been studies that show calling for an inanimate object makes it easier to find. Other than that do a fingertip search, work from one end of the search surface and then work in a methodical way. For cupboards and draws, once searched put a pos...

Can't tell if joking or serious.
It is lifehacks, after all
@Derpy "You're an inanimate *&%*%"ç object!"

... why does that not get converted to the comment?

I would assume that the "automatic post" feature also asks the user to fill the "message body" with a clear description of the problem. Clear being the focus here.
Myeah, don't have the app myself, but I'd assume that to be the case
I find difficult to believe that "Disconfigured site selection." just wrote itself too....
maybe one could make a little more effort in describing the problem?
that said, I will also argue that probably an "autofill bug report" feature does not exactly drive them to think to add a screenshot or something similar to provide more info,

@Feeds Not a decline, of course. Gradual transformation into a vertical social network, a LinkedIn competitor in a slice of recruitment market.

A new badge straight from the Marketing Department, it seems Tim Post was mostly a messenger there. Rebranded podcast, now with its hashtag, FB, Twitter, and website. Forced attempts to make someone use said hashtag. Well... there are plenty of other infomercials to choose from, if I was in the mood for the genre.
I missed your reflections on SE matters for a couple of days. Good to have them back.
@InfiniteRecursion heh, honored to be pinged! :D
@Fiksdal most likely a deleted comment. I forced a "recalc" by posting another link, and now it's gone.
@Derpy isn't this trademarked?

Out of 5 candidates in Physics election, one has edited more posts than the other 4 combined, reviewed more than the other 4 combined, and downvoted a lot more than the other 4 combined. My kind of a candidate.
Maybe you are that candidate...
