@SmokeDetector k
Funny. We had some conclusions after the experiment where SO gave us extra reviews.
I thought the plan was to put less into the LQ queue now.

It seems the LQ queue on SO has become much bigger, instead of smaller :-(
Combined with a sudden increase in edit suggestions. What's going on?

@S.L.Barth # of reviews/day lowered back to normal levels.
vs.
Suggested Edits is just weird:

4:07 PM
Hm.... not yet sure how to interpret these.

Take all the time you want. :P

The biggest problem is still the quality of the reviewers themselves.
<insert rant about robo-reviewers here>

It doesn't seem like Suggested Edits was affected much by the queue limits change.

SE queue is very irregular.
Every now and then, a new user discovers editing and goes on a spree.

4:23 PM
Yep. Some things don't change much though... like H&I.

H&I has turned into a "GET YOUR REPZ AND BADGEZ REAL QUIKZ!!!"

100 reviews/day makes H&I the queue with the fewest reviews/day. On the other hand, Triage has the most.

Yes, but most of the "reviews" in H&I suck.

I don't think I've even touched that queue...

These "reviewers" make the smallest of edits, give zero guidance.
Initially, you had to make a substantial edit and put a comment in. At some point, SO decided that any edit was good enough to count as a review.
The only thing "H&I" helps now, is that it helps unscrupulous users to get their badges :-(

4:32 PM
Yeah... someone just completed a review with an edit while commenting that more info was needed... :/

Even that is better than what most of these "reviewers" do.... at least they commented...
But if I were a mod, I'd be handing out suspensions left, right and center!

Q: What is the status of the improvement in the 'Help and Improve' queue?

Christian GollhardtOne year ago, we had a discussion about improvements in the Help & Improve Queue. One interesting Suggestion was by @davidism: What's feeding this queue needs to be improved, and this queue needs a feedback button: No, this doesn't need improvement, it's just bad On March 15, an employ...

Has anyone made a to emphasize the VLQ button?

I was just looking at that MSO post too.
@hichris123 Not that I know... but I think Triage needs to have their buttons renamed.
"Destroy", "Can only be improved by OP", "Can be improved by others".

Or in some way emphasize that "Needs Editing" is not for questions that need more info.

Yes, just giving that button a better label could help a lot already.

Q: Why is there a peeking duck in my profile pic?

Mark GarciaIn my SO profile, you may see something odd: a peeking duck. I've just recently uploaded this new profile picture of mine. I checked it after the upload and everything's fine. After a few hours, I opened my profile and there it is, the duck has somehow become afraid of the people viewing it. ...

Unlike what Geoff said, it was never fixed.
Already downvoted his answer, commented, flagged the question to remove the false tag, but got only 100% ignorance. Oh well.

user315433
"100% ignoredness"? Not sure, but "ignorance" is something else.

All the same thing.

user315433
9:26 PM
Turns out it's "ignoration", according to ELU: What is the word for the state of ignoring something?

What happened to your userscript for generating nice references to SE questions, @Meta?

user315433
@hichris123 You mean chat-formatting of f url? Still operational. I sometimes delete the user/site parts when user is not important and site is already clear.

Yeah, that was what I was talking about. Is it on Stack Apps (or GitHub)?

It's not the date...

user315433
First revision made in April 2016.

9:41 PM
Oh.

user315433
Dates would not work if I have two in one day.

Why not just use breaking.major.minor? :P

@Meta noooooo!

user315433
Because then I have to think of what is major and minor.

Or major.minor.patch, whatever.

9:42 PM
It's not hard. semver.org

Pretty much everything would be backwards-compatible though...

Yes, you don't often increment the breaking number in a web app.
Like maybe once every 10 years or something/
All the more easy on @Meta, who will only need to keep track of 2 numbers.
Is it a bug fix or a feature addition?

user315433
Don't make me think.

There's probably a semver jQuery npm angular plugin.
It's probably bootstrap compatible.

@hichris123 bjb can't find people to review his code; I have the opposite problem. :P

9:45 PM
Is adding something with jQuery a breaking change though?

No.
Besides breaking the internet, of course.

user315433
Not for a userscript that runs only on pages that already load jQuery.

That looks... awfully abstract.

11:20 PM
What are good dimensions to use for uploading an avatar?

@AaronHall Square and as large as possible.

256x256?
@Bart so that means that to have a nice looking image on all devices, you need to upload a 256x256 image. — Wouter J Feb 28 '13 at 21:44

Preferably shaped like a kitten.
@AaronHall That's just a minimum.

user315433
That's outdated, 128 at 2x resolution. New profile pages have 164 by 164 images.

user315433
So if you want 2x, it needs to be 328 by 328.

11:25 PM
I just want it evenly divisible by each dimension we use.

user315433
And going above 328 does not help, because profile page will request https://i.stack.imgur.com/filename.png?s=328

@AaronHall Doesn't matter.
@Meta The resolution could be increased later.
And I very frequently will open the image in a new tab and remove "?s=328" if the image is interesting.

so what dimensions do we use?

You're overthinking things. Just upload the image.

user315433
@AaronHall If it's divisible by 128 and 164, it's divisible by every size in use.

user315433
That's going to be pretty hi-res, bjb will approve.

Yup. That'll work.

user315433
Why did they pick 164 for main profile picture size? it's 4*41.

They couldn't afford 168.
All DevDoodle avatars are full-res from github.

On the theory that larger is better, I cropped my pic to square and uploaded it - no idea how long it will take to propagate.
well, it's on the sites.

11:42 PM
@AaronHall I notice the number of people in the photo went from one to two. :)
But the number of cats went from one to zero. @bjb568 might not approve.

@AaronHall U WOT M8? U REMOVE ME SPECIES? WOT U THINK U R M8?

@Meta @bjb can always use this magical website for it:
