The idea is that most consumer use cases, writes only happen in small bursts, so the drive has time to flush the data in SLC to TLC. This means that the drive doesn't feel much slower than a typical midrange MLC SSD.

TLC is used mainly in low-cost flash storage devices.

That makes sense

MLC NAND stores less data (2 bits per cell) but is faster and lasts longer. Most midrange and nearly all high-end SSDs use MLC NAND.

SLC is fast and has extremely high endurance (at least tens of thousands of cycles per block) but is very expensive due to its low storage density and is therefore reserved for industrial applications that need maximum reliability.

@bjb568 Well, it depends... we're trying to make sure that false positives aren't being reported into here. Any reasons with a high false positive rate are ignored for posting in here.

@Andy The point of having it here is so that it still nudges you, if you want it to, to flag the spam. You can certainly prevent others from replying in this room by having smokey not accept responses in this room.

But the responses and muscle memory when you see it is still here.

I'm not opposed to moving it, but posting it and not accepting commands for it seems to defeat the purpose
