@ProgramFOX let me guess, post global ping change?
@Derpy Hmm. No, now you mention it, it seems like a specific set of Unicode chars is allowed.
BTW, a question just hit me: What's the highest quality post that got caught by Smokey?
But I am certain that there's also a set of blocked chars.
> Oops! There was a problem updating your profile:

Display Name can only contain letters, digits, spaces, apostrophes or hyphens and must start with a letter or digit
^ result of my test right now
I suppose some Unicode chars count as "letters" and are allowed, like in @Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ.'s name.
3:03 PM
@ProgramFOX A post from PPCG is never a candidate.
But it is highly-voted. :P
Biggest mistake is letting votes decide a question's quality.
But keep giving me more "candidates".
Well... let's just say that it's high quality for PPCG. Everyone happy? :P
3:08 PM
@balpha I don't know if you followed the discussion. Shouldn't characters like the right-to-left override be blocked inside messages?

@ProgramFOX yeah, but still funny to see name I've never seen before as a response :)
Maybe add the source room when blaming?

Who made SD?
How much I need to pay?
@SterlingArcher It was started up by Manishearth and now being maintained by him, Undo, hichris123, Normal Human and me.
@SterlingArcher Someone.
@ShadowWizard Nothing. I'll get on it now :P
Cool cool, very impressive bot.
We have a bot over in the JS room. SD and Cap should totally go on a bot date
3:27 PM
@ProgramFOX oh, you're too good! :D
@SterlingArcher SDA of course
Secure Digital (SD) is a non-volatile memory card format developed by the SD Card Association (SDA) for use in portable devices. The standard was introduced in August 1999 as an improvement over MultiMediaCards (MMC), and has become the de facto industry standard. Secure Digital includes four card families available in three different form factors. The four families are the original Standard-Capacity (SDSC), the High-Capacity (SDHC), the eXtended-Capacity (SDXC), and the SDIO, which combines input/output functions with data storage. The three form factors are the original size, the mini size, and...

@Derpy Very interesting, but at this stage is a hypothetical problem. Let's wait until we see a spam post actually using it... Also, if you post something in Sandbox, it will not trigger a report: you have over 50 reputation points on Meta, which whitelists you on that site automatically.
@NormalHuman It does whitelist?
@NormalHuman really? Wasn't aware of the auto while list of 50+ rep users
One can put it that way. To be more precise: if the reputation of post owner is known, and is >50, the post will not be reported. Source
Think it's not a good idea, sometimes high rep users go on a rage quit
Or, as happened recently, accounts are being hacked.
@ShadowWizard But would our meddling really improve the situation then? It'd make them even angrier.
3:50 PM
Maybe offensive check should happen regardless of reputation..? @ProgramFOX
@Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. but easier to detect and report
@ShadowWizard was that one real then?
@Derpy see here. (NSFW language being used)
@NormalHuman what if I post spam as community wiki?
but yeah, most likely he really hacked those accounts
3:51 PM
@NormalHuman Why offensive checks, but not spam checks?
@Derpy That doesn't make a difference, you are still post owner.
@NormalHuman 'Offensive' and 'too few chars', optimally.
@ProgramFOX Because there are no spammers with 50+ rep, but there are raging users vandalizing their posts.
3:52 PM
Oh great we killed poor Smoky :(
@ShadowWizard Huh, was that a high rep user?
@ShadowWizard He doesn't like backbiting.
@Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. not really, but good chance that user had 50 rep or so
@NormalHuman Hmm, right. Was thinking about hacked accounts, but it's unlikely it would get used to post spam from. So, yeah, offensive checks and 'too few chars' as Ϻ.Λ.Ʀ. recommended.
We should always tell Smokey when we're going to change a feature.
@Smoky @Smoky please forgive us!
Now we should feed him lots of spam to make him happy again.
3:53 PM
I borked something, so it auto-reverted to a previous version.
(When he'll come back to life)
@ShadowWizard "hijack SO accounts" So that's how you earned your SO rep?
Good thing that the auto-reverter is not borked. :P
But Smoky isn't alive...

Okay, I have a dillema.
It is raining really hard
There are three large trashcans at the curb. At some point, I will need to bring said trashcans to the side of the house
I do not want to do this while it's raining
However, the garbage man left one trashcan lid open. It is slowly filling with water and becoming very heavy.
The longer I wait, the heaver said trashcan will be
But the longer I wait, the more chance there is that the rain will stop
run, @Undo, run
Q: Is it best to run or walk in the rain?

Loop SpaceAccording to the Norwegian meterological institute, the answer is that it is best to run. According to Mythbusters (quoted in the comments to that article), the answer is that it is best to walk. My guess would be that this is something that can be properly modelled mathematically and solved. ...

I think it's better to just avoid rain
Moving out of NW soon? :P

Gah. Back in MO 1.0 days they edited the initial design specifically to unbolden rep.
And now it's back to bold. And worse.

Actually I never edited on SR, either. Because got enough rep from that lame userscript request question.

So we are both slackers then? Edit-wise, that is.
I remember Undo suggesting that I post on SR, and then ᔕᖺᘎᕊ answered that question. This was clearly a plot to get me rep so that I would vote for them in this election.
Which I did.
