I know a SE employee who uses vanilla vi. Not vim, just plain vi, no configuration or anything.
@Doorknob Well of course.
Although I call it nvi.
@Doorknob Hmm, wonder who. ;P (I have my guess)
@hichris123 What's your guess? :P

I think I use vim and not vi on cygwin. Not sure though... it's not syntax highlighted.
yeah, I guess it is vim.

Once you get used to it, it becomes much easier to read text that way.
Try it for a few weeks and tell me how it works out for you.
How do you "try" said colors for said parts of speech?
You use a tagger to preprocess and feed to less.
12:08 AM
seems like a lot of work.
It's trivial to assign colors to the POS tags spat out in Penn Treebank format.
You'll never be content with that stupid old black and white crud again. Words are a kaleidoscope that imparts new Meaning.
@SmokeDetector tpu- it's always Apple
@hichris123 One might contemplate possible reasons for that.

Different sites for different topics: Ask Different for fake diplomas, Web Applications for black magic.
I would have thought Writers and Movies instead.
I like it when the variable names that aren't defined in a given scope appear in a different color. Mostly because I can't type.
@NormalHuman I’m pretty hyperzealous about capitalizing those and not doing so for locals.
And nominal constants are of course in all caps.
Aw jee I thought baffs fixed that.

@Braiam Tangent: One of the things I heard on international news was the desire in recent political elections to stop dubbing foreign movies and instead subtitle them. In part, because Spain has the lowest 2nd language familiarity in Europe.
> A new proposal from the ruling Popular Party could see Spain say adios to the practice of dubbing foreign programmes on television as a way of improving the nation's English proficiency.

Spaniards lag far behind their Scandinavian, German and Dutch cousins when it comes to English proficiency, but they could soon be shooting up the EU English league tables if one election proposal comes to fruition.

The conservative Popular Party (PP) led by Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy want a part of all television programming in Spain to be emitted in the original version, getting rid of dubbi
Just one of those "that's interesting" things for international news.
Portugal subtitles films; Spain dubs them.
France and Mexico are both worse that Spain, doubtless due to the great distances between those countries and any English-speaking ones.

Sucks badly, maybe.
I'm not sure what to make of it
In the great yellow country of Russia, foreign movies are always dubbed.
I think the only times when I saw a non-dubbed movie was at a local IREX office which screened them once a week.
The good old pre-torrent days.
One of the first (if not the first) movie I watched there was Good Will Hunting. That... was tough.

I think the only dubbed voice I like more than the original is Bertha from Two and a Half Men
never heard of that movie, guess not mainstream?
@Braiam GWH? "It grossed over US$225 million during its theatrical run with only a modest $10 million budget. It was nominated for nine Academy Awards, including the Academy Award for Best Picture, and won two"

Fun, mostly. Actually, just for fun.

Long time ago, chat rooms were expected to be somehow related to the site hosting them. Then the tags were supposed to indicate the topic of the room.

In reality, we have what we have.

By the way @NormalHuman Your parent user site is not found, So, why not change parent site?
From accounts because currently not found
It may/should be Mathematics ?
All chat accounts on chat.mse server have mse as their parent. Side there is only one site..
Chat accounts on chat.se can have any parent. I put Android there.
Pro tip as a parent account for the chat, pick a site on which you don't participate. This greatly reduces the likelihood of chat wide suspension coming from the parent site.
Alternatively, don't get suspended.
5:26 AM
One can try to, but active participation does carry the risk of such a thing.
E.g. I wouldn't risk tying chat to Math.se
