... Now is that spam?
How does no one fix that and upvote it...

Why nobody fixed that post you edited....? Probably because it's old and lost in a lot of other posts....
AND our editors are too busy putting product names in code markdown, and putting extra emphasis on parts of sentences.

@UNICYCLEZRDEBESTINDEHERE Yep, looks like spam to me.

Same here, thanks, @IlmariKaronen!

Hey @Doorknob
What's @Doorhandle?

@UNICYCLEZRDEBESTINDEHERE Doorknob evolved to be the dominant species, thus pushing Doorhandle out of the ecosystem.

(which is totally opposite of how it should have worked, but whatever.)

@tchrist Any indication that it is always spam?

@S.L.Barth I don't know that we've ever had a false positive on that filter

Lol
Devdoodle is down

That certainly raises the question of what a devil dude’ll do about it.

4:51 PM
@tchrist That's a nice wordplay you created there: devil-oper.

It was inspired by the fishmonger’s cry.

@tchrist Well, I guess this is a reference I'm missing. Googling it brings up a few things, including an article on "Molly Malone"... but I'm not getting the reference.

The fishmonger who at daybreak hawks his catch of cockles, oysters, and clams with a hearty cry is the answer to the eternal question of what a cockle dude’ll do.

Thanks! This one doesn't seem to be very well represented in the Google results.

@SmokeDetector fpu-

@S.L.Barth You must be from a key-keery-key culture instead of a cockle-doodle-do one.

@tchrist If you say so....

There are places where the rooster says cockle-doodle-do, and others where he says ki-kiri-ki.

Ah, yes. The Dutch word used to mimick a rooster's sound is "Kukelekuu". So that makes NL a ki-kiri-ki culture.

5:24 PM
Just so.

Sigh. I tried to refer him to Meta, but the post was already deleted.
It had to be a bit long, of course, because if you send someone to Meta, you have to explain to them that it can be a harsh place.
Sending an already upset user to Meta without a few warnings is just going to cause more pain... for everybody.

Refreshing to see a new spam topic.

@Oded This morning, you mentioned that one CM was thinking about a mentorship program for new users. I suggest that "preparing new users for Meta participation" is included.
It might be the most important thing, because once new users understand how to get a positive reception on Meta, they will be better able to get help themselves.

Q: What should we do with [samba]?

bobToday an off-topic question was successfully boomed, and after finding a similar question I ventured into the tag & found that the majority of questions in the tag are off-topic: How to mount windows share with cifs and access directory down tree where have access? Samba and Iptables Proper way...

started as a burnination request, but as the tag has a couple of on-topic questions I re-phased it to basically 'burninate or clean-up?'

Redundant MSE tags are redundant.

@NormalHuman Oh so their homework was eating memory? ugh, that's even worse. Homework is supposed to be eaten; homework isn't supposed to eat other things.

@bjb568 The logo is an interpretation of a double Helix, the goal is to get as far as possible from the original shape while keeping it recognizable, so we have something unique for this community that cannot be found elsewhere. — Stéphane Martin May 21 at 10:10

11:27 PM
@NormalHuman You sure it's not Jon?

user259867
Not sure, but putting this on him two years in a row seems a bit unfair, and counterproductive if fresh ideas/approaches are desired.

We could just ask @Shog…
