@UnitedStatesOfAmerica Why not download + set-up Smokey on a VM, get your own chatroom, & test it yourself instead of clogging up this room??

4:59 PM
Smokey is tricky to set up because of the dependencies on particular chatrooms.
I've tried running an instance of SmokeDetector myself on my VPS. Didn't exactly work as intended.

@Undo We use the content_source property that ChatExchange passes us. It contains Markdown.

@DragonLordtheFiery We've been trying to get rid of a lot of those, but yeah. Not particularly high-priority
@ProgramFOX Oh, okay

Where do I get content_source?
Oh

@UnitedStatesOfAmerica IIRC ChatExchange goes to the message history page and scrapes it from there.

message.message.content_source

5:01 PM
Oh, you are using Python too, now? Or JS?

@ProgramFOX You have access to Smokey's privileges setting here, right? Please could you add me on the SO Close Vote Review Room's Smokey?

@cybermonkey Sure.

@cybermonkey Somehow I thought you were already on the list

@ProgramFOX Python

@Undo Not in the SOCVR.

5:03 PM
Ah

@UnitedStatesOfAmerica Ah, then it's the content_source member of the Message class.

So I can't run smokey myself?

apparently you have access to both, but it's annoying that Smokey only listens to me in one room and not the other.
@ProgramFOX Who has access to Smokey's guts in the SOCVR?

@UnitedStatesOfAmerica You can, but you have to change some user IDs in globalvars.py so it listens to commands.

also, ouch:
