The Mystery
In exploring precisely which characters were permitted in Java identifiers, I have stumbled upon something so extremely curious that it seems nearly certain to be a bug.
I’d expected to find that Java identifiers conformed to the requirement that they start with characters that hav...
Of course, it is not deemed a bug because the idiots who wrote the spec said to do this.
It's still stoops.
@Avi: the fact that BS (not to even begin talking of CSI) is legal in Java could potentially make code audits all that more interesting. — ninjaljJan 29 '11 at 22:01
Code wrapping in the input box is awful, because it's so tiny
It means I have to keep checking the rendered output to see if my code is formatted correctly
Especially if I'm working on an if statement in a for loop in a method in a class which needs 24 spaces to format correctly. (Initial 4 to be formatted as code + 4 for class + 4 for method + 4 for for loop + 4 for if statement + 4 for code inside if statement)
It is really annoying that stackoverflow's website is not optimized to big screen - my screen is 29 inch wide - all the left and right side is unused, empty, and in the same time question / answer textfield / view is small, can not see long code lines. You can see the overall look down here:
Yep I saw that, but that question is when you're viewing a page, which makes total sense because any code is going to be formatted and you can scroll left and right to follow the lines. I'm talking about when you're answering or asking a question.
I think Shog9's answer to the meta.programmers question is good enough. Some of the commenters there noted that this answer is US-specific, so you may have to replace the resources here with something that is more relevant to the poster, if they have posted their location on their profile page.

I hate to sound callous about this, but... This isn't a support group; y'all probably aren't trained to deal with the outpouring of grief and despair of someone you've never met and may have absolutely nothing in common with. I'm certainly not. Indeed, there's a decent chance that leaving a post ...
@AndrewT. I've alerted what team members I could, although I don't know who's awake. Doubt they can do much but they definitely need to know about it. Hopefully this will keep till they wake up.
I used to not be able to come into here until a moment ago, actually. But this one was giving me the proper error message of "you don't have 20 stackexchange rep".
As many may know, Window 10 adds Cortana. But Cortana isn't available for all regions. This one screen is the result of clicking "Why" in Cortana options on an Italian (just have this pic, should be the same for other excluded region) pc
@balpha As one last, er, tidbit. While I was trying to troubleshoot why I couldn't join chat, I made a SECOND account (that had much the same problems). To get those merged, I just have to send in one of those ticket things to get their content merged together, yes?
