@Unihedron Isn't this a sign that the user's questions are useful to others?

user259867
However unappealing they might look at first.

Why are those badges even a thing? Low quality questions with many views shouldn't be awarded only because it has a good answer that kept it alive.

I should write a proposal to change the criteria to views + score of 2+.

user259867

An objective measure of being useful trumps subjective "low-quality" opinions.

@2mkgz the question with more views I asked wasn't objetively nor subjectively useful anymore, and still gathered "views"

Was it useful for a while, until technology changed?

As I've said before, with over 21,000 downvotes to only 14 upvotes I find your opinion on this matter to be highly suspect. I do understand your defense of this practice as basically stating "those are the odds", but I find it to be quite meager - particularly, when you've answered over 1600 questions. I find it hard to believe that less than 1% of the questions you've found interesting enough to answer were worth your upvote. I think I'll flag this comment for moderator attention because I don't intend to be out of line and, frankly, I'm curious as to their opinion on the matter. — Mark McClure 1 min ago

user259867
Uh oh, I'm being reported to mods for not fulfilling my upvote quota. :)

4:31 PM
@2mkgz I'm surprised for that...

... Why can't I downvote comments?

How to downvote comments: use a comment that state that you are downvoting the comment.

@Mark: -1 for claiming upvotes to be important for active members of communities to cast: Downvoting is how Stack Exchange maintains its quality, not otherwise! — Unihedron 12 secs ago

@hichris123 So if my email was ASCIIThenANSI@example.com, and my IP was 127.0.0.1, it would use the seed ASCIIThenANSI@example.com127.0.0.1? Or just one of them?

@ASCIIThenANSI If you provide an email, it uses the email. If you don't provide an email, it uses your IP.
I think IP is used only for unregistered accounts? Something like that.

@hichris123 Ah, OK.

7:57 PM
(since to register you need an email?)

@hichris123 Wait, unregistered? How do you get unregistered? I thought you signed up and that was the registration.
(Sorry, I'm new to this)

user259867
@hichris123 Everyone is required to provide email address, including unregistered users. (It doesn't have to be valid). Gravatar string is based on email hash, which is salted by SE.

user259867
IP is not used for gravatar. This is why users with emails like abc@gmail.com end up with identical gravatars.

user259867
@SmokeDetector What do you think, Smokey -- spam or just a bad question?

user259867
8:01 PM
@ASCIIThenANSI You are an unregistered user if you posted without creating an account. This is possible for questions on most sites (except a few big ones, e.g. SO), and for answers on all sites.

Sounds like a bad question to me.

user259867

Q: Include the "People Reached" and "Helpful Flags (count)" data in SEDE

Roombatron5000I know the new profile design hasn't been updated for every site on the network yet, so maybe this is a bit too early. Nonetheless, please include the "People Reached" data in SEDE at your earliest convenience. Also, I was just made aware that users helpful flag counts are now publicly displaye...

It'd be interesting to see correlations between sock puppetry and helpful flag count.
And post count and flag count, for that matter

user259867
I downvoted because of PR part. Don't really mind flag counts being available.

@2mkgz Why the PR part?

user259867
PR corrupts everything it touches.

meh, not SEDE

@bjb568 You need to try to wear that to a test

Q: Find old display names of a user

2mkgzAs observed here, it can be confusing when certain users who had gone months under one name suddenly switched to new names So I've made a simple API-based tool: Old display names of a user It is based on /users/{ids}/mentioned method of Stack Exchange API, which returns all comments in...
