Vote up Jason C, vote down Ed Conttrell! There's less than an hour left and they're tied!
19:10
@bjb568 Gee, thanks...
… or you can do the other way around if you prefer.
lol
Pham!! You're back!
Ed's too old. He's all greyscale.
@Mooseman one gone
19:11
@Undo s/one/both/
yay
@bjb568 Looks right to me
no
It's incomprehensible crap.
here, let me show you. Give me five minutes to finish what I'm doing
crap-digging-up season is over, that was nominations :P
That gets my downvote even without strategic voting.
Moderators can't be afraid to delete crap.
what does "13" mean?
Offtopic id 13, not enough info.
19:19
> Questions seeking debugging help ("why isn't this code working?") must include the desired behavior, a specific problem or error and the shortest code necessary to reproduce it in the question itself. Questions without a clear problem statement are not useful to other readers. See: How to create a Minimal, Complete, and Verifiable example.
Basically 90% of questions fall under this because they ask for debugging without an MVCE.
Hold on guys, I need to go upvote Ed before I read the rest of this discussion.
:o
wow, they're still tied
I wonder what happens if they are tied?
in Stack Overflow 2015 Moderator Election Chat on Stack Overflow Chat, 1 hour ago, by yellowantphil
Stack Overflow will crash on the tie, and all questions will be deleted
19:21
Let's tie them!
@AlexisKing Ah that sounds like a reasonable outcome
Apr 10 at 18:39, by ProgramFOX
@Mooseman Awesome! Easiest way to remove all low-quality questions!
@Werner not up to me, but the one who deleted can easily do that... ;)

Thanks! (I'm <2K, so didn't do it myself)
Guys, a question.
@pizza get some rep
Can there be a penalty for doing these harmful edits?
@MARamezani If it happens more than once, a suspension.
For example, if a guy got 10 edits rollbacked by a 2k, then some rep penalty, or yes, suspension.
Oh wait.
19:34
Someone was doing that sort of thing lately in the tag, I flagged it, and the user got suspended for a week.
There's already such thing?
It's not automatic, no.
Hmm,
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I think flags do fine. But what if, the thing goes unnoticed. I mean, "unnoticity" gets to happen at SO sometimes.
@MARamezani If it goes unnoticed, it's probably not a problem in the first place.
> What is the difference between the Windows and Linux - Some closed question
19:38
@Mooseman Win starts with W, and Linux stars with L. That's it.
@MARamezani Linux is free.
@Mooseman In some places, Win is free too. XD
Kinda free.
Don't wanna talk about it.
With Windows you are free
@rene Ah! Finally someone on my Win side!
Linux development doesn't require a Microsoft account for anything.
19:40
Windows doesn't require me to deal with Linux.
This is going to be interesting....
Your definition of "interesting" probably doesn't match with mine

Alright, I think it's time to add Salesforce to excluded sites for email regex... it makes sense that CRM manages emails. @hichris123
Of course you ping me when I just got home.
I'll take a look in a few minutes.
But in other news, meta.stackexchange.com/posts/253659/revisions was [status-declined]. :(
Is there any way to position the content of a page below a position:fixed sticky page header besides duplicating the contents of the header behind it? Doing it that way looks OK, except when the user follows #anchor links, then the anchor is initially up behind the header.
Or is there a way to force anchor links to scroll the anchor to the bottom of the header?
@hichris123 Gosh! Everyone's talking about that now.
Challenge: The header is dynamically sized.
19:48
@MARamezani Well, it was my answer. :P
Well, I for one, am not active, so I don't need activity...
But it's awesome that
user259867

The request to make Activity the default tab was declined...
> Actions speak louder than words.
@pizza I wasn't home. :P
I'm really annoyed though -- while the new profile page may look pretty, the functionality of it has gone way down.
Might have to userscript it.
user259867
@hichris123 That's my current plan. But it should be done before profile tab even begins to load, otherwise looks ugly.
19:51
I haven't noticed any functionality missing that was there before. What's been removed?
How do I track the progress of my flags?
user259867
@ASCIIThenANSI Click "X helpful flags" in the profile
@ConspicuousCompiler Nothing has been removed per se, but it's much harder to get to.
user259867
user259867
@hichris123 Except age and unregistered status.

Freehands!
Even in chat!
:O
It's an epidemic!
@pizza This is strange. I know I flagged something, but now, the flag history is gone and it says I didn't use a flag today.
user259867
@ASCIIThenANSI Did you flag as spam?
user259867
There is no history if all your flags are spam flags. Which is a bug.
@pizza No, I flagged for something to be migrated (moderator attention). It was, but it doesn’t say I have a helpful flag.
@ASCIIThenANSI Maybe cuz it wasn't helpful?
Declined I mean.
19:58
@MARamezani But it was migrated successfully, and it has no record of ever being in my flag history.
T-1:30
user259867
@ASCIIThenANSI Maybe you dreamed of flagging it.
user259867
If a flag is not in not listed in http://stackoverflow.com/users/flag-summary/{user-id}, did it ever exist?
@pizza Haha, no. I'm certain. The page actually exists.
19:59
@ASCIIThenANSI Maybe at first the migration was aborted, just saying.
@MARamezani And then someone just re-migrated it? That still doesn't explain why my flagging history still doesn't mention it.
@ASCIIThenANSI Maybe your flagging history is pulling your leg?
@MARamezani Maybe it's a bug, but I've never seen this mentioned by anyone before.

It also doesn't have SVG icons.
neither do you, @bjb568. Neither do you.

hrm, idea.
Zero dev tool foolery involved there, I promise

@JasonC do you plan to update the SO vote monitor to stop auto-updating data, since the primaries have ended?
20:29
lel
@AndrewT. I do. It's on my list. I'll probably just make it stop querying client side after the primary end time has passed.
ok, cool
whats this banner... did I miss something?
it's a yuk banner

Motifs jump into my mind all the time.

user259867
@Ixrec They did add the periods after sentences.
@pizza done
user259867
@nicael You decided to take a break exactly for the duration of primaries? Was it because too many of the candidates were your sockpuppets?
21:11
@pizza Martijn is really @nicael's sockpuppet.
3
21:31
So nicael is really a michael not a nichelle? :)
21:56
I can only find two candidates I'm willing to vote for, which is a shame. @Undo should have gotten more votes in the primary :(
@SantaClaus Is Madara / Second Rikudo in your list of people to vote for yet?
@Undo Didn't impress me.
@SecondRikudo Aww... sad puss-in-boots...
22:01

@Undo Registered question as false positive, whitelisted user and added title to Bayesian doctype 'good'.
@pizza I need help with the question. What's Matlab syntax like?
user259867
@hichris123 >> is Matlab's command prompt, which is usually present in codeblocks to show it's taken from console mode.
@hichris123 It likes to be fed and watered regularly.
user259867
So I would put everything into codeblock, leaving >> at the beginning. The line with >>\>> looks like someone's attempt to fight Markdown.
22:24
I guess I need a Gardening & Landscaping person then. :P
@pizza ah okay. I got confused because of that.
@Undo That always sound like the candidates are sleeping together. ;)
So something like this, @pizza?
    >> tic; pause(1); toc
    >>Elapsed time is 1.009068 seconds.

    >> start = cputime; pause(1); elapsed = cputime - start

    >>elapsed =
    >>        0
user259867
@hichris123 No, the output would not have >> at the beginning
@pizza ah, yeah.
user259867
>> tic; pause(1); toc
Elapsed time is 0.994753 seconds.
>> 2*2
22:27
@pizza I think elapsed = is an input and 0 is an output?
user259867
@hichris123 No, it's output too. Example:
user259867
>> x = 2*2
x =
     4
>>
really? huh.
Weird that it's not all on one line.
is your terminal wrapping weird?
@Undo This is Matlab.
22:29
oh
user259867
@Undo It's because Matlab often works with matrices and vectors of decent size. So the output is likely to be pretty long. Having x = on the same line would mess up the alignment of columns.
Ahhhhh okay
makes sense
Okay, I think that's right, @pizza. Saved my edit.
user259867
@hichris123 Looks good.
Ooooh Chrome on OS X plays nice with zooming gestures on my trackpad.
Thanks @hichris123
(you're supposed to take credit here, 'cause no one knows any better)
22:32
@Undo Not my fault.
Oh wait.
wait, this is wierd
Apparently they're zooming around the page like an image.
Cool.
@Undo Well, I did introduce a WebKit test to the Blink codebase that crashes on 10.6. Turns out our text shaping language (Harfbuzz) doesn't like RTL & LTR together on 10.6.
I could introduce a failing test too, where do I sign up? :P
@Undo Go submit a patch. :P
We do have buildbots though so it would never get into the codebase. At least, it shouldn't.
if "x" != "y" { SOMETHING_IS_BORKED(K_SHOULD_OBVIOUSLY_BE_TRUE) }
22:34
I'm assuming we didn't have a trybot with 10.6 on it.
@Undo if ("x" != "y") { ASSERT(FALSE) } or if ("x" != "y") { CHECK(FALSE) }
I was close :P
CHECK() crashes the browser if the expression is false.
