And スタック・オーバーフロー is the only site whose name is.. well you know.
@Woodface Hmm, the 'confirm and create account' buttons on both are inactive..
user259867
Until/unless you check "To sign up for this edX site and consent to Stack Exchange sharing information you have disclosed or may disclose in the future with edX, please check this box"
@Woodface saw just now; accounts created
user259867
Fun fact: when SE realized the privacy policy issue, they deleted everyone from those sites and they had to re-register.
user259867
(If I remember correctly; this was a while back)
22:03
@Woodface idr that
user259867
Yes I remember correctly.
that would be annoying.

@Frank I know you're busy, but I wouldn't stop by without saying hi. So Hi!

Looks like you guys are working on stuff as usual.
@Frank Cool!
user259867
Yeah, creating accounts around SE for no particular purpose. :)

I found the name of the B&B we stayed at in PA.
now I have 140 SE accounts.
@Sue eh?
Sue
Sue
Remember I told you my hubby and I had gone to PA a few years ago? I found the name of the place-curious if you know them & how far from your house.
22:13
@Sue so what was the name?
lol
hmm...

@Mooseman Very cute! SE Android blue-screens me! I have to take the battery out of my phone and put it back!
22:21
That's what removable batteries in android phones are for.

@bjb568 My Windows Phone has a removable battery :D
Therefor all do!

@Mooseman A windows phone sounds cool. Who makes that?
@Sue I have the Nokia Lumia 520 and love it. The only thing I dislike about the WP platform is the lack of apps from sites such as SE.
@Sue Microsoft
the OS anyway
@Mooseman wabsite
user259867
And Nokia the hardware... bought by Microsoft a while back.
user259867
@Mooseman xkcd.com/1174 applies to SE as well.
I meant s.tk
user259867
Not in the sense of annoying pop-ups, but the app / site functionality comparison.
@Woodface yup, brought it up but nobody seemed to care about that on meta
The SE app is absolutely worthless.

I think @ is better for exclamation than !. More prominent.

@Mooseman I get what you mean. I've been using an iPad for years, and I like certain apps, but windows offers so much more functionality.

@Frank SO is wild! Tons of questions a minute but nobody votes on them :)
@Sue yup
I hear it's hard to get rep there with questions unless you already have a good bit.
@Sue Well, you can't run *.exe on WP. Same as WinRT. :/
@Mooseman ha
Sue
Sue
I can see why. Have you been to cooking SE recently? They have a link to GL with that beautiful new logo.
22:32
@Sue nope, I knew it was coming but hadn't seen it yet.
Will go check it out.
Sue
Sue
Very pretty!
the "months" has turned into "years" ... I think this is going to be the Duke Nukem Forever of the SE network — warren Mar 4 at 16:17
Oh.
And answer says that it's not going to be years
@Sue I get the coffee SE ad instead.
s/winter/spring
yay

Sue
@Frank So do I now that I've refreshed the page :(
I have a bird migration question. Is there any place I can ask it? I checked biology and great outdoors for tags but couldn't find anything.
I could always google but I was hoping to ask it here.
And I'm following the new Birds site but not sure what will ever happen there.
@Sue I don't know if there's an SE site for that yet, but I'd ask in chat at both places and see if either would take it. (biology main chat room) (TGO main chat room).
Looks like I'll become mod on LH in the next few days.

@Mooseman Cool, I like that phone!
@Frank Finally! Is the election happening now?
@Sue Not election. Pro tem appointment.
@Sue Microsoft already announced that it will receive the Windows 10 update :)
@Frank Are you saying getting the email isn't confidential?
@Frank ooooh awesome
@Mooseman idk why it would be.
@Mooseman not technically IIRC, most people just choose not to share it
although I got mine a year ago and it might have changed since then
22:43
I am (obviously) not most people.

@Undo he meant the getting of the email, not the actual address (iiuc)
@Frank right
Sue
Sue
@Mooseman What I really want is a windows tablet. Do you have or recommend a certain one? We have an aiing elderly laptop running windows 7 and my elderly iPad 2.
user259867
Woodworking has 100% commitment, may launch tomorrow (beta launch Tuesday). It seems I ought to participate there...
@Frank most people choose not to share the getting of the email, but it might have gotten a confidentiality clause added since I received it a year ago.
(holy crap it's been over a year)
@Undo nope.
@Woodface I committed long ago iirc

@Sue I've only heard good things about the Surface Pro 3. I personally have the HP Stream 7 ($99 MSRP; was $80 on Black Friday) and it's been great. It struggles to run Chrome and Office (I haven't even tried VS) though because of its mere 1gb ram, so that should be taken into account.
Surfaces are my favourite tablets.
The original Surface, right?
Sue
Sue
@Mooseman I had no idea there was one that inexpensive. D (husband Dennis) likes Firefox on the desktop. We need lots of memory for office, etc., so good to know.
@Mooseman At one point renamed to a Table (better fitting title) and I forget what it's now called
22:51
@Sue You said 'fox' :p
@KevinBrown PixelSense. But they've also released the Surface Hub, which is the same size, but aimed at businesses for meetings, etc.
Sue
Sue
@Mooseman Ah, I wondered why he showed up! I love him!
@Mooseman Is this really a computer?
This guy no accept answer... maybe not what he was looking for meta.stackexchange.com/questions/250899/…
@Sue There are other sub-$200 Windows tablets that have more ram. Somebody I know got an 8" Windows tablet that included Office (not 365) for $200.
@Sue It is, but it's $5k.
Sue
Sue
@Frank Hmmm I thought he was new and didn't know how to accept an answer, but he's been around.
Plus that message comes up when you vote up an answer reminding you of the choice to accept it!
around he has been.
incredulous I am.
leave it I will.

@Sue As would I...
Sue
Sue
@Frank good looks your answer, though
@Sue If I had that much extra, I'd set up a pasture and horse barn. And if I had that much to spare again, I'd get a horse.
@Sue lol - didn't really recommend him an SE site
Sue
Sue
@Frank And we'd come live there and you could hire D to work (he grew up on a dairy farm) and me to play with the horse so it wouldn't get lonely!
@Sue Don't know if you could bear me irl
@Sue and I would make all the money... yay...
:P
Sue
Sue
23:01
@Frank I know but chat's a good recommendation-people just don't know it til they've been.
@Sue That's a good room too.
Sue
Sue
@Frank You could have all the money if I could play with the horse!
@Sue you would still eat.
or no?
:D
would be cheaper for me to just buy you a horse and ship it over.
me liek cashz
Do I get a second fanatic badge when I hit 200 consecutive days?
Sue
Sue
23:05
@Frank I don't eat much! You could send me a horse, but we had to move to the suburbs and you have to have an acre here to have a horse. & you have to pay a "horse tax"!
@Mooseman no
@Sue ha!
@Mooseman I have 298 consec. on GL right now.
one badge.
:(
Would you back a meta request? :D

Q: Multiple fanatic badges

zerkmsYes, I've seen Is it possible to get multiple Fanatic/Enthusiast badges? But what about making it multiple? ;-) Having 100 consecutive visits several times undoubtedly deserves an award.

Sue
Sue
23:07
@Mooseman No reason not to. There are other badges you can get multiple times.
@Sue see above reasoning ^^
Sue
Sue
@Frank Hmmm, makes sense.
@Frank I was just about to search :p I guess their reasoning makes sense, but I'd still rather be able to get another badge.
@Mooseman The one I think should be awardable multiple times is Marshal.
500 flags is a lot of work.

@Frank Agreed there!
Sue
Sue
@Frank Some of the review badges too?
@Sue robo-reviewers bad.
@Sue ah, yes. the gold one.
@Mooseman yeah
Sue
Sue
@Mooseman Yah but is there a happy medium? Some reviewers work really hard. Course I'd have to go look at the badges to know of what I speak!
23:12
@Sue Not really. Either robo-reviewers are attracted, or there is a reliance on the audit system. I've had review bans several times because people upvote crap, and that crap becomes an audit.
@Sue Steward is awarded at completing 1,000 review tasks.

I just realized you can press on your consecutive days button and a calendar comes up! And I just realized if you click on Feedback it takes you to meta!

Q: Now that Socratic is awarded multiple times, Legendary should be too

WoodfaceThe logic of Socratic and Legendary badges is similar: Socratic is given for 100 good asking days Legendary is given for 150 good rep-harvesting days But Socratic can be awarded multiple times, while Legendary cannot. I propose that Legendary should be a multiple-award badge too: For consi...

@Woodface I disagree about Marshal.
user259867
23:15
That's okay, it's not getting implemented anyway.
not declined yet.
Sue
Sue
@Mooseman Makes sense-didn't realize that.
I think the motivation to race with query-powered flag farming isn't necessarily going to be stronger after the first badge is awarded to that user. Idk for certain, but I feel that the majority of SO users with the Marshal badge are not using queries. And those that have over 500 helpful flags will likely continue flagging the way they were before.
@Woodface
If you google 'gardening stack exchange', the 4rth result is 'User J. Musser - Lifehacks Stack Exchange'

@SmokeDetector ugh what a mess. I'm not sure it would become clear even after editing, so passing on that one.

Some of the badges don't say how many times you can get them

Q: ASP.NET MVC Project Structure for larger sites

Jon KroekerI'm surprised I can't find more discussions out there about an issue that is really bothering me on our project using ASP.NET MVC. How can you deal with a Visual Studio solution that has multiple projects? The MVC framework has the Models/Views/Controllers folder in the main project. But what i...

too broad? ^

this comes up on that Google page too. What is it?

@Sue something weird...
Sue
Sue
@Frank Yup!
@Woodface That's cool-thanks! I like "return to top" idea. I see the point of that there, but would also be a cool option as "return to question" on questions with tons of answers.
I don't know how anyone could possibly max out their reviews in the Late Answers queue.
