Morning!
@MetaWonder Let's agree to disagree and ask @ShadowWizard for ice cream
Morning!

Sorry, "disagree" and "cram" does not rhyme.
Dammit, edited.

Morning!
@Unihedro Marked as off topic
LOL
ugh, why do I always think 18:02 is 08:02PM? -_-
what time is it on the moon?
1:05 am
@bluet Probably 89:76 AM.
17:05
The same time when you are looking at the moon
user259867
@Unihedro Is that Alpha Centauri timezone?
@Fundamental yep.
@bluet wrong ...
Calibrated into 24 hours, though.
Pre-calibration, it's 89:75 am.
user259867
@MetaWonder But if you are on the moon... what time is it then?
17:08
@Fundamental yeah so?
user259867
That's technically not morning.
12:08 AM EST ;)
user259867
@Fundamental Well, technically morning is just a state within time without being clearly defined, as "morning" could be when someone wakes up.
Which it is.
Good morning!
@Fundamental It's morning on internet chat time.
I can't find the link to that tho.
17:12
I was thinking that the tavern uses UGT, and that anyone that doesn't use it would have their ass laminated.
What is UGT ??
The sound you make when you see someone wearing UGG's
Hats off for discovery ;)
Ok guys i am leaving Bye !
bye
O_O
@Braiam That, in 2015? kidding
I've been told that after microwaving food, I should leave it for a minute for the microwave thingy to cool down to be safe to eat. Is it true?
@Unihedro Skeptics
@Braiam They need more official proof than "the sales lady told me that", though. :P
btw, it depends
17:30
Oh.
@Unihedro not actually
@Braiam Meh.

Q: Is the after life real?

Hi @Mateon1
17:40
@Unihedro Not to cool down but to prevent accidents due to Superheating. You can leave a spoon in the cup to prevent the effect from occuring
@rene Ah, interesting. Thanks a lot!
but I think @uni wouldn't boil water using a microwave, or are you?
@Braiam It's instant noodles, so water is involved.

Q: What causes you to abandon an edit?

Tim PostI'm working on that last queue that we'll be adding to /review as part of the quality project, and it's arguably the most interesting piece of the puzzle. It's a queue where folks that are interested in helping (mostly) new users can go to work on questions that the community has deemed likely ...

user259867
Yes, everyone's main reason seems to be edit conflicts. My typical experience: I'm in the middle of a long painful rewriting of a muddled question, someone else sees that x^2 is not typed as $x^2$, and edits that ignoring everything else.
"My connection suddenly died and it won't submit" anyone?
an entire day where my internet just randomly died
user259867
@Unihedro But then you'd simply copy your version and edit after reload?
@Fundamental What if the connection isn't back after all the waiting and you'd had dropped the edit by then?
Not like everyone has office internet.
user259867
17:53
Well, post an answer there.

wat, how'd I get flag banned from 2 declined abuse flags?
And why'd they get declined?
inb4 abusive mods complaint by In Praise of Moderators participants
17:57
@bjb568 Why is it abuse? VLQ, yes, but not really abuse.
Well, it's crap that's bad enough to be trolling and see rev 1.
The flag description is:
> This question contains content that a reasonable person would deem inappropriate for respectful discourse.
Yes, it contained "shit" in rev 1, but that's easy to be edited out and not enough to be considered abuse.
> you can edit that out yourself instead of flagging
> I'm Aman Gautam and I'm new here. It is my first time that I am asking questions on StackOverflow.
If you're at a fancy dinner and a guest comes up and literally says revision 1, is that appropriate at all?
18:00
@bjb568 No, but Stack Overflow is nowhere near a fancy dinner.
A beach, of sand, with occasional pearls falling from the sky, probably.
Sam
Sam
@ProgramFOX Eh sorry, I didn't bother starting him up when I got back in.
> A respectful discourse
@bjb568 Under respectful discourse, the phrase used in the original post was frustration rather than insulting or abusing for a reasonable person as the reader for respectful discourse? And just because that phrase is there doesn't raise it to the "this post sucks throw it out of our community" level.
Sam
Sam
18:04
@Unihedro Just a few mins and I'll have him running (I need to clean + re-build)...
@Sam ok
@ProgramFOX Shog changed the definition IMO
@bluet great, leave the salutations will ya, vladis?
@Braiam *IIRC
@Unihedro no, in my opinion, Shog changed the definition of the flag, he didn't actually do that
Err... how can someone change a description in your opinion? Whether it's changed or not is a fact, not an opinion.
18:09
when it's posted in meta
user259867
@Braiam How did he change that? I remember his often-quoted suggestion that keyboard-smash posts are included under that category. But that's also within the description: posting nothing but "uyuburt ffkjff mcjdf" is not appropriate for respectful discourse.
Sam
Sam
Eh, forget the rebuild. VS takes too long to load.
@bjb568 er........
now, where is Tim Post post (?) about rejecting anonymous suggested edits if all previous ones where rejected as "spam", umm?
user259867
> If you suggest an edit to a post that has a certain number of edits rejected as spam recently and then that edit is rejected as spam - we deal you a blocking penalty in the spam system. In other words, known targets dynamically become honeypots. Cool, huh? -- Tim Post
Tnx, those look yummie

You're welcome @rene and there's one extra for @bjb as well :D
@Doorknob is fixed now

I had just two in the cvq

Nah, I'm just doing a search.

Q: Some zero-width characters add to the comment legth

DJDavid98It seems that the comment-length check counts some invisible characters valid, for example: the characters ranging from (U+206A) to ‬ (U+202C) and (U+206A) to (U+206E). This allows users to post comments that look shorter than the specified threshold of 15. See below.

When playing hour long music mix things you realize that you spend hours on stuff.
I use that as a timer. When I have an hour before departure, I pick an hour-long album.

@hichris123 An answer to a question that shouldn't have been answered rarely merit preservation. Exceptions can be handled with historical lock. Deletion is a not a punishment for the user who left the answer; it's a housekeeping task.
@Fundamental Perhaps, but it may prove to be useful. In addition, we're wasting people's times by deleting answers on an old off-topic post rather than cleaning up a high-visibility or new post.
