Bio is reasonable tho still.

that awkward moment when: You search your own username in Low Quality Posts HQ, and find that a question you asked triggered the "low quality post" alert: chat.meta.stackexchange.com/transcript/773?m=2727517#2727517

Heh

@Behaviour It's in 3rd person of a year ago myself. Written by an imaginary parent.

11:33 PM
@AstroCB I don't read the chat transcripts.

@SantaClaus Hey, at least mine has a disclaimer :P
(don't touch it! it's at 42 votes)

:P

... aw come on. :(
Also, this increases the already strangely large gap between my Parenting rep and my rep on Ask Ubuntu, U&L, etc. on which I know much more about :P

@Doorknob downvotes

Parents are weird.

11:35 PM
100% CPU usage @ 4.12 GHz. :D

@hichris123 wonders what you have done

@hichris123 Heh, just now I was actually wondering why my CPU usage was so high
Then I realized I accidentally typed "yes" into a terminal instead of Skype...

@Doorknob lolwut

So Skype used 100% doing nothing.

@SantaClaus Computations.

11:36 PM
That's why you don't use Skype.

> 1,597 seconds
This is going to take a while, isn't it. :P

@hichris123 wonders what sort of computations

@bjb568 ... erm, no, yes used a ton of CPU (only about 35% actually because multithreading) while Skype used nothing :P

No Skype use all the CPU but terminal is limited to a core.

Skype does nothing.

11:38 PM
agree
Skype takes 20% of my battery on my phone.
Guess how much I use it?
0

Well, I set up my terminals to automatically go into tmux when they open, so tmux was using ~25% and yes about 10%

Skype takes 20% battery AND it never updates new incoming messages. Oh well, got rid of it soon enough.

Same.

Skype uses almost no battery for me.

It's crap.
Every stupid animated smiley would take up another 5% of a core for me.

abuse

Gone

@bjb568 Oh, I figured out how to disable those almost immediately. Those are terrible.

@SantaClaus Large number computations.

@Doorknob I think terminal knows more about me than all of my friends combined, simply for this reason.

11:41 PM
@hichris123 ooooooOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOooooh

fancy
@hichris123 wonders what sort of large number computations

@Doorknob I don't think it's disableable on mobile.
True for PC, though.

@Unihedro Oh yeah, I meant on my laptop.

@Doorknob wonders how @Doorknob can read my mind

I just disabled the smiley-to-image conversion entirely because it's useless

11:43 PM
emoticon to emoji*

doesn't use emoticons/emojis on any kind of regular basis

@Doorknob large large number computations

:P
:D
:/
:)

function (e) -> function <a smiley>
:/

jk

11:45 PM
@hichris123 wonders how large these "large large number"s are

Can you even measure battery consumption of a PC app, @Doorknob?

wants large large large numbers

user259867
Something useless like Mersenne prime search? Or supposedly useful like protein folding?

@SantaClaus 100^50000 as a max, currently.

11:46 PM

@hichris123 wonders what business you have with large numbers such as 100^50000

@Frank Ha, ha, ha. That's a terrible joke. Worst I've seen so far today. Have a star.

Thanks!

@Doorknob srry

The websockets feed makes it so easy to catch very short questions (say, under 180 chars), because their summary is short. Neat... but... this would be so much more useful on answers.

11:49 PM
@Doorknob We don't star jokes here, do we? That might count as fun, which we don't tolerate here.
