The problem is, most or all of the games I've tried take their time loading, and they freeze the entire browser while they're loading.

@JanDvorak Unity 5 exports to WebGL. No more plugin. And what you say might simply be Unity's strength also being its problem. Anyone can easily create something. Doesn't guarantee it's optimized though. Check the Unity tag on occasion for the programming skills on display there ...

I've seen plenty of WebGL stuff running at 3 FPS, but I haven't seen any WebGL stuff freeze the browser until a tab kill.
