I don't see any SO hats. Only Meta ones. When I click on your SO profile I see your 4 meta hats and NO picture on the left. figure you had figured how to trick the system into thinking you had a hat.
> This is not a recruiting attempt I am started a web based business I need someone who can program those services and If they can I will hire them. Thank you (source)
wow, this female is suspended for one year? stackoverflow.com/users/1479606/eli Isn't that kind of weird with that huge reputation level and profile views?
Is it ok if i post this here and maybe delete it in few hours ?
No this is not serious, but i have nothing to ask so far.
In the meantime, happy new year everyone.
@Mr.PeanutMonopolyMcManish The new year flows like molasses near the hub. I can almost watch it spreading through the valleys, a dark shadow amid the pines... Probably a good hour and a half before it reaches 7000 feet.
@MysticMagic I was with someone, then watched the fireworks over the city from the lake, and then roamed about the greener parts of campus listening to music.
@TinyTim Now that I know you're lord of the swag, I have a question: I might have a chance to go to WWDC this year (Apple's dev conference). On Sunday before everything starts everyone mills around and I have very little to do. Would SE be interested in having someone pass out swag?
@Mr.P Meh, only when we have a programming question to destroy. Otherwise we are sad Meta people. This is the hour in which we can become happy for a whole uninterrupted hour without programming questions.
> Happy hour is a marketing term for a period of time in which a public venue, such as a restaurant, bar, bowling alley, stadium, or state/county fair, offers discounts on alcoholic drinks, such as beer, wine, and cocktails. (source)
In case you're unfamiliar with the actual phrase =)
@jadarnel27 Are there any restaurant, bar, bowling alley, stadium, or state/county fair, offers discounts on alcoholic drinks, such as beer, wine, and cocktails for the Happy new year?
Well, well, well, time to get back to work, my break time is over. Greetings to all of you and maybe this bad question of mine will disaprear in the midst of binary winter
@scrblnrd3 You could use that, it's a generic 'event' sort of form, I'd likely reply with whatever questions we had. Just make sure you link to some sort of page explaining what the event is all about
"Dude, I know you like to downvote, it is not the first time. I said it was an attempt. " -> should we mark such comments offensive and rude?
I downvoted a reply and left technical concerns with the answer while being civil, and that was the reply.
I see that people get offended quite easily by downvotes even if it is just temporary .... provided they are willing to improve their answers. Perhaps, it hurts their ego, and do not consider the best answers as the target goal overall?
Well, I will not reply to such non-constructive arguing people either.. not for such posts of theirs at least. These people have issues with their ego versus getting the best answer out.
of course, I always remove it if the OP convinces me I am wrong, and the person clarifies the answer, or improves it with my suggestion, alternatively.
@3ventic: well, where I happen to be, there are not many bad answers I see, and most of the bad answers I see will be deleted in no time, so those reps will come back anyway.
did I understand it correctly I will get a disputed flag if a 10k+ user marks a flag as invalid even though the moderator overrides that by accepting the flag?
heh, what an irony, the person answering the question did not wanna improve the post, and I posted another then as I feel it is good, and it got a downvote without any explanation... :-) I guess it is some rage driven stuff.
Currently, the behavior of flags in the 10k queue is this:
If action is taken, either by the community or by a mod, the flag is "helpful" (positively affecting flag weight)
If they are marked "invalid" by community members, they get forwarded to the ♦ queue. The mods can take action on them, bu...
Well, in an ideal world, sure, in the real world, it is not possible due to the circumstances in many big corporate companies, like the conservative automotive industry.
you need to get wage in your job, especially if you have family, high desire, etc. You can not say to your customers, oopsie, I am the bleeding edge techie guy, so please pardon me that I will not care about you the next 1-2 years... hmm, "just because". That is a very bad business strategy, and a good way of going bankrupt or at least being cancelled.
Following this request which is about stats, my mission is more simple and doable by us, ordinary users.
Let's archive all hats and their descriptions as they appear in the official page which won't survive long.
I will put here all hats I can see "open", please anyone who see hat that is not l...
@ShadowWizard I think the edit-notifications are kind of random. I think you always get notified of a suggested edit, and you get notified of a normal edit if rand()%3=0
There was a request over four years ago to have the Related Questions ("Questions that may already have your answer") key off of the tags and not just the title. It was requested in that post that to help implement this, they should put the Tag input box directly underneath the Title input box. ...
I think it's a fine answer, seems like what the OP needed and wanted. We're programmers, we don't always need someone to explain the code (though that will usually get you more votes, and is a nice touch).
I agree that it's borderline. I'd prefer to see it explain why it solves the OPs problem. Especially since their attempt (in the question) is not even close to solving the problem.
For the first time I failed an audit in review, but I sure don't think I should have.
I saw the edit wasn't that good, so I hit the improve button to clean things up and got this message:
This was an audit, designed to see if you were paying attention. You didn't pass. This edit vandalizes t...
They did say that in the comments of the original top bar announcement. Since it hasn't happened yet, I think a question for it is appropriate, though.
