@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog I think it's better if it stays deleted?

It might also be worth considering whether or not it was deleted for legal reasons, in which case it should most definitely stay deleted.

12:44 AM
Also, good morning everybody (in UTC)

@JourneymanGeek Yeah, I'd agree. It'd probably be a good idea if it were re-deleted by a current mod, so users couldn't vote to undelete it

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog Already done

That'd also solve another issue - to <10k users, it shows as "voluntarily removed by its author" - it'd instead show with a more correct "removed for reasons of moderation".

But the risk of bringing it up here was reopening and it would take us longer to deal with.
Well - it was in a sense voluntarily removed. But this would be a great thing to custom flag for our attention...

Not difficult to find, sort by votes and go to the last page. Someone could create a [Shenanigans FAQ]() on Meta, but it would be missing so many things; due to the forgive and forget policy - top of the list would be the re-user-naming (editing the Database) of an answer so it could be pinned; now fruitless due to the new unpinning.
I don't think that the user named objects to the history being 10K'd.

@Rob there's no way short of nuking the content and redacting to hide it from 10Ks
@JNat stackexchange.com/users/22792031/michael-smith lottery scammer for your backlog. I mean, we gotta keep it interesting, right? :D

@JourneymanGeek Correct.

I'm not gonna do that.

Rob
I've not asked any such thing, nor is that what I was saying.

What I was saying was "it dosen't need reopening" and "you coulda flagged it"

hmm someone should modify Smokey so that it remove deleted users from the "notify me" list...
Now TEW is stuck there for all eternity. :/

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Not deleted, only suspended.

Anyway, I think the instance owner can clear those. Not 100% sure, though.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Last seen three days ago, and the same message goes to more than one chat; where they could reply directly, or use any number of other methods to offer feedback.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog and renamed then, there's no account with that name anymore.
Or we talk about two different accounts.
@Mithical surely they can manually, after all it's just text files, but that's not really elegant.
@Rob hmm weird, searching didn't find that user. Well, my request will be valid at some point, somewhere.

I wonder how it will ping deleted users though. AFAIK Smokey already follows the name change.

Smoke and mirrors is a classic technique in magical illusions that makes an entity appear to hover in empty space. It was documented as early as 1770 and spread widely after its use by the charlatan Johann Georg Schröpfer, who claimed the apparitions to be conjured spirits. It subsequently became a fixture of 19th-century phantasmagoria shows. The illusion relies on a hidden projector (known then as a magic lantern) the beam of which reflects off a mirror into a cloud of smoke, which in turn scatters the beam to create an image. The phrase "smoke and mirrors" has entered common English use to refer...
