Q: Anyone is able to see ♦ moderator announcments

SmitopThere is a way for anyone to see ♦ moderator announcements despite not being one: This can be done by creating a Stack Overflow team, then going to https://stackoverflow.com/c/{team-id}/topbar/mod-inbox. (I added in a few stylesheets in the screenshot to make the above screenshot look good). It ...

there are a lot of weird things you can do as an admin on Teams

@JourneymanGeek You know how you said earlier that SU is not good for particularly advanced questions? I just saw an answer where someone with 60k rep is arguing that shell servers are not a thing. :D

2:34 AM
@TheforestofReinstateMonica Oh that one.... If someone could explain with backing what a sgdo is, they're likely to get lots of rep and maybe a bounty

@JourneymanGeek No idea what that means. The question title and body seem to differ a little.

@TheforestofReinstateMonica literally no one does

It's more the top answer that I find... painful, not so much the question.
> We are an experienced SSH provider, we started a few years ago, the server we provide is enough to make you comfortable and safe. Our port is not for Dropbear, OpenSSH, Stunnel, UDPGW badvpn and Squid proxy. You can choose according to your needs, our SSH speed can be compared with others. all of our server services use Vultr, Digital Ocean, One Asia Host etc. Give support to us, and use it wisely
In Singapore.
Seems it's just their own term for that datacenter/location.

oh
all the answers are variously painful
also, wasn't a legit use of shell servers running IRC bots?

Hopefully mine isn't. :P
And yes, that's a common legit use (IRC bots and bouncers). I mentioned that in my answer.
Which someone downvoted but whose comment seems to be disagreeing with something I never said. :P
I sent off an email to FlySSH's support. Let's see if we can get the answer from the horse's mouth.

@JourneymanGeek I got the explanation (in Indonesian though):
SGDO: Singapore Digital Ocean, Digital Ocean
SGGS: Singapore SingTel, OneAsiaHost
^ but this doesn't even look like a proper answer lol

I wrote a user script to restore the old review functionality of immediately submitting the review on choosing an action

@MetaAndrewT. at least worth a comment

Is anyone seeing this on MSE?

MSE, no, just saw it on MSO though

Repro'd on MSO.

4:42 PM
Also on U&L and skeptics

It's network-wide, I just ran through all 176.

I am going to assume you're exaggerating! :)

*straight face*

We're gonna need to pick one to be the dupe target, because we've currently got 4 identical reports.

Let's see

4:47 PM
Chronologically, Justin's is first.

True
I'll not vote for mine, that'd be unfair. I kind of like this one, since it covers both Chrome and Firefox.
One down, two to go.

Yeah I voted to close them all as dupes of Justin's, especially since it's now becoming the highest score one.

Yeah, that helps ;)

5:43 PM
^ Doesn't contain a link; needs one more VTD.

Yeah, I del voted already. I reported it so we have it in MS for future reference.

It's gone

5:59 PM
thanks!

Yw. I needed something to delete after just running into the rudest kid ever in real life XD

Ah, something to focus your frustration on. What did the kid do?

Exist. And annoy me.
I was parking the car, and they were running around it. WHILE I WAS STILL PARKING. That was offense nr.1
I had to honk to actually get them to move out of my way.
Offense nr.2 was that as soon as I opened the door, they started begging.
"Where have you been doing your groceries?" (on a 'heeft u voetbalplaatjes' tone)
So I told him 'That's none of your business'.
Next question: Where do you live?
"Again, none of your business"

LOL. Yeah, I would call that a kickable offense :D

Cherry on top: If you did go shopping at Lidl, I wanted to ask you...
Let me stop you right there! DO I LOOK LIKE I'M REMOTELY INTERESTED IN WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY? Shut up and go home.

6:05 PM
Do you even look Lidl like?

@rene Definitely. They're ... Did I ever tell you about that neighbor with her 30 dogs?
@rene I had hoped not :(
Driving a kinda brand new car, had A-brand stuff in the shopping crate...
Maybe it was the hoodie.

Oh, hoodie. Yeah, Lidl or Aldi

Next time I'll make sure to wear a proper coat.

Back to the topic. Do you have voetbalplaatjes?

There isn't even a supermarket that does voetbalplaatjes right now...
They wanted the stamps for the jungle mini's from Lidl, is my best bet.

6:14 PM
I'm totally out of the loop ;)

I mean... I can almost understand the kids that gather at stores to ask people leaving. But to actively be a nuisance when someone is parking their car, and assuming that person did groceries before I've even opened the back to get them out... that's next level 'not being raised at all'.
@rene I know about the Lidl mini's just because they're so ridiculous (they're cube-shaped).

wait, you can level that up?

@JohnDvorak Or down, whichever way the scale goes.

So, I guess on your next return from the shop you can expect; where are our mini's? We told you we need those last time. Go back to fetch them

It honestly wouldn't surprise me. These are the kids from the daughter of that neighbor that had 30 dogs... The daughter isn't much better, they've been living in our street for little less than a month now and there's already so many complaints about both her and her kids.
I'm not one for gossip, but this is just too hard to miss.

6:19 PM

It will be, as soon as I move out. Though I will probably end up with neighbors that aren't much better.
Apparently, if you're born in a bad neighborhood, it's very hard to get out.

7:03 PM
Yeah. It is sad and annoying.

I'll figure it out someday.
Until then, there's chocolate

7:33 PM
o/

sdc chocolate Tink

@Luuklag No such command 'chocolate'.

Don't bother, I just went grocery shopping and bought a kg of easter eggs :)

I have them too!
Most is still in the bag, and the other half in a bowl I believe
no more then a dozen have been consumed

7:36 PM
I took 3 with me upstairs, the rest I left downstairs XD

Yay for self-control!
How are you going to do that when you live in an apartment...

More for being too lazy to walk up/down a flight of stairs to get more....
Probably the same way: Put the eggs in the kitchen so I can sit on the couch/bed being too lazy to go get some XD

7:48 PM
Be advanced lazy: eat them all now, so you don't have to bother later :P

I can eat a lot. But 1kg of chocolate in 1 sitting is too much for even me XD
I was planning on at least making this last 2 weeks.

"Never stop dreaming"
"Yes you can"
"Do more things that make you forget to check your phone"

I'm playing a game rn, and chatting (not on my phone).
So the last one I'm already doing, yay!

It's amazing how well generic motivational slogans fit for encouraging eating. Or drinking, if you're into it.

Btw, that last one is sort of like the game... it makes you remember you forgot to check your phone.
@VLAZ Not even just generic ones. There is 'body positivity' these days too...
I usually just try to steer clear of anything motivational, it doesn't work XD

7:53 PM
Worst body positivity slogan: Make [name] great again!

My morbidly-obese-person sized pants seriously have 'Dear body, you're beautiful' on the inside..
Like yeah, maybe I'm not ugly, but should you really encourage an unhealthy lifestyle like that, dear fat-pants?

@Luuklag It's kind of really bad slogan overall. Nowadays.

Well being all negative about it doesn't get you anywere either I think. Once you get into a negative mindset making healthy choices becomes even harder I think

Actually, not.
Realizing that you're very unhealthy is the first step.

@VLAZ yup

7:55 PM
There's not much sense in just pretending everything is fine if there's obviously stuff that needs changing.

Well I'm not saying you should pretend everything is fine when you know you have an issue, whatever it may be.
But rehashing over and over that you have an issue won't motivate you either.

That's why it's so bad for pants to remind you you have issues... that's the whole point.
Pants are kind of the first thing you see each morning.
(and yes, pretending there's no issue is also a firm reminder there's an issue...)

i mean

toilet?

Can I please pretend I don't have to give a lecture tomorrow evening, for which I still have to make a presentation

8:02 PM
Sure.
But like I said... pretending there's no issue is also a firm reminder there's an issue :P

Well I already have a title slide :)

Yay! What does it say? It's not about diep leren again, is it? XD

nope, its about crop protection and "akkerranden"

Sounds interesting :D
Does it have anything to do with keeping pests in those edges? :P

Nope, it has to do with minimizing the effect of crop protection on those edges, and on the surface water bodies behind them.

8:07 PM
Ahhh. Another guess: Less pesticides in water?

yeah basically
there are lots of pesticed to choose from as a farmer, and changing one for the other could have tremendous impact on the amount found in water.

That's good then!

We have a tool that helps farmers compare those products, and have them choose on multiple criteria
It's freemium ;)
milieumeetlat.nl

Ahh, so you're preparing an advertisment, not a lecture! :P

nah not an advertisement, no farmer ever takes out a subscription
only companies do
And I get paid to give the lecture ;)

8:12 PM
That's called a pyramid scheme then :P

I wished

Well it does sound nice that farmers don't need to take out a subscription. I know exactly 1 farmer, but they have enough costs to make as is, if I believe them :)

You can compare 3 products at once, for free. If you get a subscription (As a farmer at the whopping rate of 50,-/year) you can compare 7 products at once
but we also offer free downloadable charts for several crops, so you can easily compare yourself there
There is no PoB closure reason on MSE right?
otherwise this could use one: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/63385/…

@Luuklag Bottom one? Opinion based?
The 'primarily' part is gone.

yeah scanning for a P won't help much then

8:16 PM
Hahaha nope, that's where I often go wrong too XD
