I was under the impression that Stack Overflow does not allow animated advertisements, when seeing this ad on the homepage sidebar: The ad has animation. Was there a change of policy at some point? If not, can this ad please be removed? Thanks.

Sometimes they couldn't strike an agreement with the advertisers (and too cheap to show it for free), other times it's simply an error (and we're too lazy to bother writing since it's so easy to bypass).

I'm looking for a VPN solution. I have a low-spec server with good network bandwidth and throughput. I want to create a VPN so when some clients (Windows and Linux) connect to my server, the clients think each other is in one local area network, and can play Minecraft to gether.

Does anyone have any suggestion? Or should I go to softwarerecs with more details?

if the server software is available in the Ubuntu official APT category (server runs 18.04), it's even better

@JourneymanGeek Do you know if a VLAN can be created without a gateway? i.e. only LAN traffic goes through the server. If a client does a Google search or watches YouTube videos, such traffic should not be affected by the VLAN.

so you can set your normal traffic to go through eth0, and traffic to specific networks can go through a tap or tun interface

And you need to explicitly set up a VPN to allow out traffic, and probably explicitly set up your system to use that for non VPN traffic

@Alex Yes :) That was the problem... I would get inbox notifications of people writing me messages, yet not see the messages show up in chat (real-time). They'd always be there afterwards...

So editing an old message would give me the ping, but I wouldn't see it because it was not in my screen view ;)
