@Derpy you mean the custom close vote option? That's a comment, so it boils down to offensive comments that can be flagged as such. No need to see downvotes and no need to ping anyone.
Oh. Anyone can see who cast a close vote, if it's closed; if it's a custom close reason, and it's still open, it should be in the comments; if the comment was deleted, then any diamond can see it.
@Derpy All the room knows based on context who did it. We didn't necessarily know they also used a close vote to proliferate this. Definitely custom flag
@JourneymanGeek I mean: the context is over now, we could close it with the "no longer relevant" (they already say they were going to do this in the post, so we could just do it before they do)
I... uhhh... I'm really thinking of nominating at this point, seeing the currently dire situation, but I need time to write it properly and I'm sorrily busy today >_<
There isn't really value in forcing the election to go forward when 2/3 candidates only run because they want the process to go forward. 1 of those will be elected and you really should only be moderator if you want to
What can we do about questions that need closing but have an open bounty other than just ignore it? The bounty is new so has 7 days remaining, the only thought I had would be to mod flag but that would seem too drastic
@ShadowWizard Is it? To me it is taking the fun out of being on SE chat ;) These conversations always run back to 'we're still mad about what happened to IPS' and not to any constructive discourse on how to improve HNQ. Unless you want to nitpick at that title and think about how it can be improved (which is unlikely to happen as none of us really is on writing.se here)
@JourneymanGeek can do better. It is funnier when you change the icon of a development SharePoint site collection to the Delta Rune... just about two days before the dog post a link on his twitter (no, not our dog. The other one. The annoying one.)
now my coworkers are convinced that I somehow knew that Delta Rune was coming, two days before the release. Obviously just a coincidence, but it is fun to see them wonder.
on an unrelated notice...
anyone ever noticed if an update repository mirroring sync is know to cause bad signature errors on Linux Mint?
Had some weird errors Saturday evening. First a bad signature error, refreshed the update manager only to get another vague error that mentioned the possibility of a mirroring sync underway.
@JourneymanGeek yes, need to know if there's a point to start flagging again. :)
@Derpy spam isn't more than usual, off topic probably still result of the email sent to millions of people with direct links to MSE posts.
(so they read the post, see "Ask Question" button there and click it, not aware for a second they're not in the correct place.)
It was much worse (people here reached a point all daily close votes were cast), Shog put a quick hack that showing a special page for users with 1 rep asking a new question (I think), which reduced the amount in at least 50%.
