What's the deal with twitter.com/c0 account? Leaving this page alone for a while, I see "X new tweets" soon. Clicking on that, no tweets.

user202362
Stop being twitter obsessed ... speak of which, I am not active on any social network. So when one of my close friends engaged, she published the news on social media but messaged me instead.

The real question is, how could you stumble upon that twitter account? And why are there so many followers?
I guess his twitter account is in coma though...

Became a minor social media celebrity after that second tweet.

I have an excellent idea for a startup - a shopping land in disguise of a game - so you can wandering through this magic village, and create whatever in your virtual world while wearing an VR, you can then click and collect anything you create there. There is a gigantic 3D printer next to the server that can make the item you have created. Of course the item you can click collect is only limited to whatever the 3D printer can make and ... the amount you made available to the game ...

@Telkitty we meet in 2 days to bring down SE to have a coffee :)

Q: How to simulate cell signal loss?

Vi0The program (CSipSimple) seems to work not well when cell data network is unstable. It works OK hovewer if you manually switch it on and off. How to simulate bad network connectivity (e.g. going by underground train) for testing the application? It should be mobile network, not Wi-Fi. Are ther...

dunno about iOS

user202362
I love to test apps on the train, just love it

user202362
I also love national parks, very scenic ... also love my app, it makes me happy - I have nothing to complain

should do this more often

@bjb568 or you can just live by yourself :p I rented my own apartment/flat since the first year of uni and lived by myself for 10 years after, except for the time when I was studying or working overseas.

user202362
There were also two years when I lived by myself in 3 bedroom houses with reasonably big backyards. I mowed the lawn, my friend came over and commented: 'nice bushwalking trail'

user202362
you know - the kind of lawn where you dog would run and disappear into the grass

10:52 AM
@Telkitty stay below the tree line? (That should give you wood to burn ...)

user202362
back home now

Hmm, very adventurous ... you can do some abseiling from your porch ...

@rene abs what?

abseiling, some rock climbing term

@Telkitty you can just go to any cellar you know....

10:55 AM
(remember reading that in one of the rock climbing resort posters)

SE got one too
@BhargavRao huh, so you do that a lot?

@BhargavRao also used in the Military ...

@rene never climbed any rocks during army service
Only tanks.

@ShadowWizard reading posters? Yes. rock climbing? only in VR

Though falling from a tank or while climbing it is common. And painful. :P
@BhargavRao oh lol

10:57 AM
@ShadowWizard Oh there's conscription in Israel?
Didn't know.

@Bhargav well, moderating SO is harder and more exhausting than climbing the highest rock in the world.... :D

The other day Petter told that there's conscription in Sweden, never knew about that. :|

@BhargavRao yup. Three years for boys. Right after high school.

3 years is hard.

It's possible to get away though if one really wants, 30% of the boys do that.
Many get away with valid reasons, usually medical, but many do that without any valid reason by cheating.

Very recent development is that LGBT teenagers are now called to not go to the army due to official government policy banning LGBT from adopting children. (Not only in Israel, even if they go to other place to adopt, they can't return to Israel with a baby or child.)

Here, there's no conscription. (Though there's a fundamental duty that says, citizens must "render national service and defend the country when called upon to do so"). In spite of that many many people join army. The queues extend so long that police are often called in to control the crowd during army recruitment.

@rene hehe.... never liked that, did it few times in high school and with friends when younger though.

@BhargavRao it was the default trip in high school to the Ardennes, on your belly through a cave, rock climbing, abseilen, canoeing, nightly drops, BBQ, getting drunk, that kind of stuff.

@BhargavRao good for you.... here many consider the army as something huge, unorganized, and full with injustice towards the low ranked soldiers, so it deters many teenagers.

Breaking train to rant a bit....
Quiz: why is the above infuriating me? ^
Why we can conclude for sure from this that the android app is dead, and nobody in SE really cares about it? ^^

Because someone is using an WorldWar Phone?

Because its latest update was just 3 weeks ago?

This is a terrible rant

user315433
Misaligned list items make poor rant material.

user315433
3:53 PM
Perhaps a better idea for a rant: consider that (a) ~80% of close review tasks age out of the queue unreviewed (and this is not a new thing); (b) other queues on SO get clogged. Conclusion: remove Close queue from SO, as an exercise in futility that diverts reviewers' time from other queues.

@Telkitty Most universities are promoting this on-campus culture thing and require living on campus at least for the first year.

user315433
Here it's 2 years, and the administration is considering 3 which I think is a bad idea.

5:15 PM
@Shog9 more fun this way :D
@bjb568 "require living on campus at least for the first year"?! Whaaat? Here it's cheaper, true, but no university has enough rooms for all its students...
@YvetteColomb android, yup. iOS app is just fine...
(and even if not, there's someone who notice bug reports and actually fix bugs.)
@Alex not when it's a super trivial bug that takes exactly a second to fix, yet go for long months without any hint of attention. This proves whoever is responsible for the app (no need for names) simply don't care about it.

user315433
Here it's typically more expensive to live in a dorm than to rent (assuming a shared apartment/house in the latter case). When your customers are forced to buy your product, keeping prices down is not a big consideration.

@ShadowWizard Lots here say there's guaranteed housing on campus for all four years.

user315433
It's something about community building, or school spirit, or such.

user315433
Yes, if anyone wants it for their 3rd and 4th year, which very few people do.

user315433
I think I know exactly 1 undergrad who lived on campus for all 4 years, and that was to avoid distractions of dealing with leases and such.

user315433
5:23 PM
Becoming more independent from campus services toward graduation is a natural thing to do. Gradual transition.

Q: Set a minimum salary for job offers

RustyXJust received an email from SO: We really like this job for you. Software Developer ***** €40,000 - €65,000 Visa Sponsor Paid Relocation Is there any way I can specify that such offers are below my salary expectations, without switching off all job offers?

@caz what did you listen to today?

user315433
Is this "We really like this job for you." a legit email from SO?

@Alex dupe
@Alex SO never send it just like that, only if one subscribed to get job alerts.
(based on key words, mainly.)

user315433
I thought the wording was a bit weird.

10:10 PM
OP quotes it wrongly though, exact wording is:
> We found new jobs that match your interests!
Maybe OP gets it in different language, and translated to English with not-so-good translator.
