@Shog9 I can do that. I'm trying to automate it myself, although I'm having a hard time building a correspondence between the /sites api and sys.databases.
Wasn't there an API call that accepted / returned the sites db id # or something? I thought there was...
Are the domain names always the reverse of the db name?
@JasonC no. See the answer I posted on Oded's question.
Checkin...
You can sorta figure this out with the "TinyName" field and a set of matching rules, but... It's less solid than I'd like.
hehe, like I said, no April Fools this year... or it is well hidden.
I forgot that stackexchange_files was a thing. This looks like a good start.

oh, this is the prank:

At Stack Overflow, keeping your information safe is our top concern. And as a community with over 40 million people each month, it has to be: Our success has made us a frequent target of attacks.

Computer security is always evolving. Passwords are “what you know.” Smart cards are “what you have.” We decided to ask “how you do you.”

Today we’re proud to publicly launch that latest evolution.

This security update is the result of years of work, requiring advances in many fields such as computer vision, AI and advanced calisthenics. …

@AaronHall Ugh, on a Saturday? Why?

I just came out of a committee meeting, 1:30 - 5:45... so I'm supposed to be happy about getting out alive, I guess.
@Shog9 Yes tinyname looks like the best lead for filenames. Well at least for my little propsed faq I can do match rules that way to generate the list.
Also you can throw tinyname or one of those urls off to the api, get the aliases, and match filenames that way.
I think your solution makes the most sense. It's like Adam Lear's idea about the release notes but more proper.
Then it can just be periodically updated in a faq on mse too for ease of access

Q: In the ancient times users could undelete their mod-deleted posts?

peterhChecking, for example, the history of this post, I see that it was undeleted by an ordinary user, after it was deleted by a mod. Was it at the time possible?

Grumble!
@peterh is going at nerves, agreed
user315433
@JasonC It did happen in Documentation, so I suppose backporting tables to Q&A is a possibility.
@πάνταῥεῖ actually that one is valid question....
(unless he knows the answer and is just trolling, can't tell.)
@ShadowWizard I'd opt for trolling :-P
Yeah I saw those comments on shogs answer there. I think there's no excuse for not having tables. It's also not a battle I want to be a part of. I'm content to sit on the sidelines in mild disappointment.
user315433
@ShadowWizard Valid, but may be stressing nerves ;-)

Q: Is there Markdown to create tables?

leoraIt seems like a lot of people try to display tables in Stack Overflow questions, but don't do a very good job. Is there Markdown syntax that supports creating a proper table?

But I would expect Q&A to get them eventually.
(And . . . I didn't read the backscroll. ;-)
@JonEricson Guidance is just fine! Research is another kettle of fish!
If you like Markdown tables, root for Documentation to be a success.
@JonEricson Mingled concerns! LOL, that board is awesome!

If Documentation folds, developers working on it will be reassigned to other projects, which just might be something Q&A related. So...
Happy hour?? Lemme have a drink!
@Gerry ... Markdown tables will still be a low priority. ;-)
Happy Happy Hour, folks! Going to sleep, but sure you'll have tons of fun here. :D
How exciting for that guy. He saved 3 steps and reenacted the sand barge scene from Jedi.
@jon That wasn't addressed to me actually? was it?

Q: Why don't we keep public records of suspensions?

Jon EricsonWhenever the topic of a suspended user crops up, there's often confusion about what information moderators ought to share and what they should keep private. Sometimes moderators are just as unsure as other users. This can cause all sorts of unnecessary problems. The immediate effect of a suspen...

23:05
@πάνταῥεῖ Not at all. I've been on the hook to write that for weeks. I'm not even aware of how it might apply to you at all.
@JonEricson As I'm actually in suspension state, I felt addrssed a bit ;-)
@πάνταῥεῖ Ah. Well, I wish you the best of luck when you return from that state. :-)
@JonEricson Sure, I'll come back and completely shut up ;-)
We're armed with cotton balls ;-)
@JonEricson I don't see how documentation could possibly fail. It combines the QC and credibility of wikipedia, the accuracy of W3Schools, and the non-redundancy of archive.org, it was a guaranteed win from the start.
Also the meaningless "reputation" and other gamification nonsense of Stack Overflow.
23:20
Not to mention how enticing it is for open-source product developers to completely ditch their established documentation practices and flock over to documentation as their primary hub for maintaining up-to-date docs instead.
Drinking a White Russian in honor of our dear POTUS. Happy hour, y'all!
Lol, burn
@JasonC you just blew up my sarcasm detector
Sorry. I'll buy you a new one.
If it makes you feel any better I just crashed Chrome, too.
Not to mention what white russians will grow up in my secretary ;-)
Regarding your POTUS you should all gather together with forks, torches and tar and feathers :-P Ican't really say more ...
