@SantaClaus I'm applying to colleges this year (even tho it's my 3rd year in HS). I took the ACT just because it's a requirement for to take dual-enrollment classes and I got a 34 without knowing what's on it or preparing, so I guess I don't need to take it again.

If you don't like your options do you just take another year of high school and apply again senior year? I have to imagine you'll get into a fantastic school though.

I'm applying to MIT, Caltech, and Stanford, with another year of HS as backup.

I do think I have a fairly good chance to get into one of them.

@bjb568 I think you have as good of a chance as anyone. I can't say anyone has a "fairly good" chance at those but you certainly have chances as good/better than most senior applicants

My application strong points are basically this:
- Rigorous classes and As, math and CS demonstrably at graduate knowledge level
- Highly motivated, since I moved half way across the country for HS and take way more classes than I need to, while studying on my own other subjects
- Strong resume of technical skills and projects
- DevDoodle
- Full summer software development internship in Taiwan, real world experience
- Leadership at my HS, my clubs
- Musical ability
- I got good recommendation letter writters

So with MIT, since it's not really writing-heavy and there's an interview portion, I think I'll do pretty good.

I'm also on top of all the things, not like most HS students who rush it all together the week before the deadline.

Well, I'd assume so... and most times of deletion are >5 minutes (when the post is reported to the Tavern) but <10/15 minutes.
