The minimal example doesn't look that bad to me - although it also looks like it can be simplified further. But try to look at it from the perspective of someone wanting to answer your question - you've basically said "Something's wrong, but all I can show you is it working properly." Unless you already know about the bug, how can anyone help with that? — Jon Skeet 19 hours ago

Q: What is the most policy-adhering way of contacting a user?

BmyGuestThere are several ways on StackEchange one can use to send a message to a specific user, f.e. by adding @username when posting a comment. However, if I only want to 'contact' a user with a new request - but not necessarily linked to an existing posting anywhere on site - what is the 'correct' (R...

Q: When should I ask questions on here (meta math SE) and when should I ask on über meta?

Zachary SelkIt is my understanding if my question is about math.SE and can't be generalized to other SEs, here is better. If my question is about site functionality then über meta is better. Is this understanding correct? If so how should we handle questions about site functionality that are posted on here...

either we're über meta, or we really need to ask ourselves why taxi companies are on-topic on meta math.se

Kinda, there's three teams, so you can join a team
You can own turf, or 'gyms', which lets your local team members work together to defend them. To own the turf you have to beat the entire team that's on that specific gym

@Quill oh, AngularJS in the front end, node.js in the backend. Used ASP.NET in the past, might have to "renew" that site, not sure if we'll keep using ASP.NET or switch over to node.js as well.

Node's pretty nice

What would it take for SE sites to run without diamond mods?

user315433
Let's assume SmokeDetector is operational and enough people know about it to report the occasional missed spam/offensive post.

user202362
@Bookend the answer is easy: low standards

user202362
but it's not the one you want I assume

user315433
Currently mods handle contested NAA/VLQ disputes. Those would remain just that, disputed flags with no action.

Then there are comment flags. Those with rude words are handled automatically (and the set of words could be expanded). The rest are usually not urgent. Could be handled like this: if 6 different users flag comments under the same post, the entire comment thread is nuked.

user315433
There'd be no "other" flags, of course. No merging; post a CW answer if so inclined. No locking; the kids can play close-reopen-delete-undelete until their supper time.

user315433
(Currently, there's a bug where one can vote (un)delete repeatedly on the same post, this should be fixed.)

user315433
This leaves allegations of sock-puppetry and voting rings...

user202362
I would rather be more interested at why do you want to be rid of diamond mods?

user202362
10:50 PM
I have my theory but I am hushed every time I mention this theory

11:51 PM
@Telkitty yeah.... :p
@Bookend as long as there were users who could still do the community building side of things, most of the moderation task could be left up to the community
I think, in a way, people can be scared of 'the mods', but to be scared of 'the system' is quite different, and unless the system is big brother level perfect people are just gonna try and cheat their way around it
