that's what this is though, automation. you're trading a bunch of people who do the task, with code that can do the same job

For most people, there isn't a need to automate things unless it comes at a big inconvenience to the host

There's what 160+ sites, with lets say an average of four mods per site, so 640 mods, so if trying to support 640 people was a big inconvenience to the team, moderator roles would look at being more automated so we need less of them

It was idle pondering. There's going to be an election on Mathematics eventually. And I'm not going to run, because I'd rather leave this chore to someone else. Which led me to the question "what if everyone did that".

if no one ran (for the first election), then I suppose someone from the CM team would ask whoever they designate as backup quality mods if they'd like to do it.

I get the feeling elections after the first don't need to bring in new mods

what would be curious is what would happen if no one said yes to the mod emails at the start of the public beta phase

@Bookend I think you would make a good mod, but if you don't want to run, then that's your decision and that's okay. In some sense it can get a bit tedious, and you lose the ability to just ctrl+w and walk away

@Bookend you should have already an answer to this, as shown by recent elections with < 3 candidate scores

(at least not until that extreme, thanks to those nomination with > 15 CS)

Q: Can't enter the Tavern on the Meta

When I go to Tavern on the Meta, the room states that I didn't log in. When I click "log in", the page merely refreshes, still stating that I didn't log in. When I try to visit chat.meta.SE, I get this: What's going on here? Do I have to enter the Tavern with something else than Chrome 51....
