Why are you querying for this data?
I think @Meta's xkcd is very applicable.

Messages posted here by @hichris123, by hour.
As you can see, the number of participants in this chatroom dropped off dramatically as soon as hichris began participating in earnest.

So basically when the mass of outsiders left...

12:29 AM
Now, I'm not saying @hichris123 drove them all away...

...Just heavily implying it.

Obviously you need to take that statistics class Cueball is talking about...

In all seriousness though, this is part of that whole "post-mortem" thing @canon was asking about earlier.
I'm pretty positive about how things went, and expect if/when we do more of these THC events they'll get more enjoyable as we become accustom to them
But... We've kinda been through this before.

user315433
I suppose MichaelT leaving had something to do with Whiteboard becoming less active.

Almost certainly
And the two big hangups back then were:
1) We ran out of stuff to talk about
2) Folks stopped showing up
Now, the kicker here is... We're not exactly sure which one happened first.
We know we ended up mostly just talking about the same stuff every couple weeks.
And we know fewer and fewer people were showing up.

12:34 AM
As a... somewhat related interjection: can someone please unpin the two "important" messages that aren't relevant anymore?

And it's certainly reasonable to guess that folks wouldn't want to show up when there's nothing of interest being talked about...
...But then again, it's also pretty reasonable to assume that when no one new shows up, there'll be fewer new topics raised.
So, probably should've paid attention to that back in the day
But hey, past sins.
Can at least keep an eye on both now.

@Shog9 Are you talking feedback for users in if they're asking/answering well? Or feedback in terms of getting answers quickly?

@hichris123 you post something, you may or may not get any reaction for... hours, days, months.
comments, votes...

I'd at least hope most posts get a vote if nothing else...

Questions get answered, but an awful lot of answers don't get anything

(although, if people just downvoted posts they voted to close...)

I've spent a little bit of time on Yahoo Answers. Way too many junk questions and answers, but you can still get useful info there at times.

user315433
12:45 AM
On webapps, where getting no feedback is par for the course, I often filter by newest answers to vote on them. But this is not something the UI encourages.

user315433
FR: make anonymous feedback visible to the author of post.

user315433
Maybe the first positive feedback on a zero score post could even be a notification or badge.

It's really a curious copyright claim.

A: What does "trodie" mean?

Ken MacLeodIt's a word I made up! It's for someone who habitually electrically stimulates the brain's pleasure centres via an implanted electrode. (Like 'wirehead' in some stories by Larry Niven.)

Hard to get more authoritative than that.

I almost missed Happy Hour!

The very young and the very old are, perhaps, the few among us who are constantly aware of the pain of every action in life, up to and including the act of being aware of one's surroundings.
But perhaps we all know, on some rarely consulted level, that we've each chosen pain.
And... Given the chance... Are more than willing to double down...

user315433
Yes, like people asking for double daily review quota.

That study seems to have failed that same xkcd. Just because someone shocks themself doesn't mean that they want pain -- a lot of people are likely curious about how an electric shock would feel.

user202362
how do the very young constantly aware of the pain of every action?

user315433
Although one can argue this is as much about inflicting pain.

I do think reviewers doesn't read the whole post... I have exactly the same problem. Perhaps your problem will solved by unblock the ports in your firewall. -> "Me too!". However, from the second sentence...

user315433
3:08 AM
The guessing answers are tricky. "I'm sneezing a lot recently". "I have the same problem, and X helps".

Yeah... that's why I skip these. They're not good answers, but that review comment was definitely wrong.
Honestly, I think the biggest problem LQP has is poor flagging. Poor auto-flags, poor manual flagging. And some people who feel the need to flag old link-only answers...

user315433
FR: delete automatically generated comments with 1 flag.

user202362
IMO people don't usually choose pain directly - very few people hurt themselves because they want the pain. But people tend to choose pain indirectly - take me for example, I would choose to do a 30km hiking in a day, knowing 90+% of the chance I would end up in pain. I would still sign myself up and do the hike.

Does not have to be CSS. It's just that GM_addStyle is the more common one. A script using GM_openInTab has the same issue.

So I disabled those two... hate losing custom styles and custom frontpage interface, but 120 errors on every page load is just stupid.
