Just wanted to say, I slapped a +100 rep bounty on this question because I think it needs to be reconsidered.

Q: Should available close votes be a function of inflation or rep?

GabeI've noticed that my allotment of close votes on SO no longer lasts as long as it used to. Maybe it's because there are so many more migration paths, maybe there are many more poor questions (more users means more questions and more questions means more poor questions), or maybe I'm just getting ...

A: How to separate plastic grocery bags?

MoosemanBreathe on your finger tips before using them to pull at the plastic bag. This provides greater friction and therefore a better chance of success. You can also attempt to dig in to the bag with your fingernails if they are sufficiently sharp.

@J.Steen I'm building a website selling faggots, tubes and other wind instruments. The problem is there are multiple ways to categorise our products, so our category trees should have the same categories in multiple ways, usually coming from parallel paths (long->finger-operated = finger-operated->long). What's the best way to design our database? A full-on graph-based system might be hard to query.

Sam
@JanDvorak This is where NLP saves the day.

It's certainly more accurate than a hard-coded regex.
Obviously every system has its flaws, etc., etc..

@Sam I'm building a website selling faggots, dicks and other problematic slaves. The problem is there are multiple ways to categorise our products, so our category trees should have the same categories in multiple ways, usually coming from parallel paths (problematic->lazy = lazy->problematic). What's the best way to design our database? A full-on graph-based system might be hard to query.

@JanDvorak We block "problem", but we can't block "faggot" because someone might ask a question about building a site about wind instruments?

I don't endorse the former

@JanDvorak To be fair, neither do I. I'm just using it as an argument.

Sam
@JanDvorak Your first sentence: PRP VBP VBG DT JJ NN NNS , NNS CC JJ JJ NNS . When compared with the title of the troll's Qs: IN PRP VBP DT NN IN NNP. So, with proper analysis/ML/etc. I'd say it's possible to have at least a hint if something is truly off or not.
