Many snow here!

user259867
@bjb568 Much ice to slip on, too? (Compare to what's here).

IDK, but probably. As evidenced by me foot.

We didn't get any snow out of this system. :(
ooh

That SE profile -> chat route is pretty cool!

OMG

@hichris123 : Change location of Google Chrome notification message... Apparently it's not possible for a user to select in which corner notifications should appear?

oh... it's not chat -> main site, never mind

Why is that domain called "modnewsletter" if everyone can read it?

@FamousBlueRaincoat hrm, well... let's see if anyone filed a bug about it.

@ProgramFOX Because it's for moderation-related features?

user259867
@ProgramFOX It's intended for mods, but nothing secret is posted there.

4:33 PM
@ProgramFOX It used to be called moderator.stackexchange.com, but then @Andy stole it!

"transparency", I suppose.

user259867
Like Stack Overflow is for programmers, but I can read what's there.

@FamousBlueRaincoat ah, I see
@hichris123 :D

[ SmokeDetector ] Repeating characters in body: July 2011 macBook Pro keeps restarting itself by Ryan Mabutas on apple.stackexchange.com

@LynnCrumbling Registered question as false positive and added title to Bayesian doctype 'good'.

@SmokeDetector I hear that the August 2011 macBook Pros's don't have this problem.

uhh somebody answered it

Not somebody... a high-rep user...

Wait, it's an answer? Isn't it an irrelevant rant?

@hichris123 Not only stole it, but then decided it wasn't good enough. I don't want your second hand subdomains

5:21 PM
@Andy Well, could you at least give it back, you meanie?

The OP's self-answer shows it is a typo.

And it's also a code dump...

I prefer too much code to "I try to call foo.bar() but iz no work!"

jQuery > PHP
/me waits for the wrath of the tavern

5:36 PM
Wrath?

My mind exploded when trying to evaluate jQuery and PHP independently as values to compare.

@Mooseman I know what the word wrath means, and I've used both jQuery and PHP. I don't know why the tavern should become wrathful.

@Louis Because my earlier statement attempts to compare apples and oranges.

5:43 PM
I prefer working with jQuery to working with PHP, even if one is an apple and the other an orange. The problem is when someone grabs "jQuery > PHP", wraps themselves in it, climb on their high horse and wage war against those who may hold a different opinion.

Can somebody explain what is happening?

@KevinBrown Wow, even PHP says it is true!

You're comparing "jQuery" and "PHP", not jQuery and PHP.
That's a lie.

var jQuery = 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000;
var PHP = 99;
console.log(jQuery > PHP);

out of 1000?

5:53 PM
var PHP = -100000;

var PHP = function () {
  return "sucks";
}

@Unihedro warning: missing semicolon

no it isn't missing one

@Louis closed

ECMA script, not javascript

5:54 PM
@Unihedro hence "warning" and not "error"

... I'm not getting it in my ide

eww, what's an "ide"

integrated development environment

@Unihedro Yes, I know. Who would use such a thing? :P

@Doorknob I dunno.. but I've been told to beware them...
@Doorknob especially in March.
(buh-dum-bum-bum)

5:57 PM
Beware the ides of March?

(tap) (tap) .. is this thing on?
@hichris123 Thanks, folks... I'm here all week.. tip your waitress!

Listening to Nirvana Unplugged .. Polly. What a throwback.
Haven't heard this song in over a decade.

@Doorknob Notepad++ FTW

@Mooseman eugghhhh

6:01 PM
@Doorknob If you don't use an IDE or NP++, what else is there?

user259867
@Mooseman But it does not have its own SE site! What kind of a text editor is that?

@Mooseman TextPad

@Mooseman Sublime.

@Mooseman Vim, obviously

Emacs, FKS. ("for the kitchen sink")

6:01 PM

@LynnCrumbling One does not simply mention Vim and Emacs in the same sentence (and/or group of messages)

@Doorknob You just did.

6:02 PM
vi.

I'd consider emacs and Sublime IDE's...

@Doorknob Fixed.

Should have left vi ;)
Well that works.

@Mooseman I'd consider emacs its own window manager, operating system, and benevolent overlord.

@LynnCrumbling Yeah, but what it really needs is a decent text editor...

6:05 PM
@JanDvorak Thank you.. I'm horrible with that word.
@Doorknob Perhaps.. someday.
My text editor of choice is... joe!

@LynnCrumbling Real programmers use butterflies.

@Mooseman So wat... It looks like: "you wrote 'bathroom', did you mean 'kitchen'"? If a user bothered himself with searching [bathroom], why won't he search for [kitchen] if he wants...

You can't. Windows 8.1 with Bing is for OEM licencing only. If you have a device running it, make recovery media for the device. This question is off-topic though. — Mooseman 9 secs ago

Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why experts-exchange had thought that, we would know a lot more about the nature of the Universe than we do now.
