ouch

anyone know of a feature-request to let x reputation users search deleted posts?

I mean on site -.-

@ɥʇǝS That was implemented for searching their own deleted posts.

I mean others.

Q: Is there a way for normal, non-moderator users to search for deleted questions, or could one be added?

HopelessN00bThis is a fairly straight-forward question/request that I couldn't find a direct, specifically on point answer to with the search, though it seems like there would be one by now. I've seen the meta questions around deleted answers, and not displaying deleted posts in a user's profile for non-mod...

50
Q: Can we have an isdeleted:1 search option/operator?

Charles StewartIt would make looking for the answers we have deleted so much easier...

The others I see wanted it restricted to your own posts.

hmm, maybe the first one.
@hichris123 that one is just about your own posts.

I think it's just listing a possible use case.

@hichris123 No I know. I wonder what fraction of that they'd have if their site didn't suck. And Andy Slavitt was all like "well we got 185,000 users online at once yesterday". STFU Slavitt and go find some Facebook engineers to help you out.

@NormalHuman, I've made a userscript based on the vote count viewer you made

Your 185k is not impressive. It's mandatory for a large % of the 320 million people in this country, how are they surprised that %0.05 of their target users visited the site at once.

@JasonC it's impressive that the site didn't crash...

Just between you & me, kz, because this is top secret! I think I know the use of those unicorns now - for making hats! You know, every time during the harsh winter just before Christmas, when the unicorns have the thickest furs, someone would shear those unicorns and use the fur to make hats for winter bash! Those poor unicorns then have to huddle together for warmth.

@Derpy depends, who pays? :)

@Telkitty I beg to disagree. We had to sew those hats together because Rarity forgot the delivery date - again, but they are just made with Manehattan imported silk.

Q: How would society react if they found indisputable proof that the universe is a virtual reality?

michaelpriThis is similar to this question Some scientists found indisputable evidence that the universe is all just a simulation. Maybe they found the code that is running the simulation (I don't know how) and then they demonstrated its genuineness by editing it and changing something, like making a chai...

This makes no sense, by definition we can't observe anything outside our universe.

@bjb568 lol, reminds me of a great game I played long ago
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (スターオーシャン3, Sutā Ōshan Surī, Star Ocean 3) is the third main game in the Star Ocean series. The game was developed by tri-Ace and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 2 console. It was released in Japan, North America, and the PAL territories. The original Japanese release date was in February 2003 by Enix, its penultimate release before its merger to become Square Enix. It was re-released in 2004 as a two-disc Director's Cut version with bonus features such as new characters and dungeons. The North American and European versions are based on the Director...

Second time he hacked the search

I'm trying to find questions to answer but they're all crap. How to find good unanswered questions?

@bjb568 "by definition"? There are theories that say we can...

@ShadowWizard I... haven't made an attempt yet, this doesn't count!

@Andy The universe is everything we can observe. Thru science we discover more of it. We can't discover things outside our universe because everything we discover is in the universe.

3:30 PM
What about theories that there are other universes? Do those become part of "the universe" then or do we split into multiverse theories?

@Andy If we can observe it, it's in our universe.
If we can't, it's just speculation.

@ShadowWizard ok, we should try to see if there is hope to replicate the "Little bobby tables" xkcd comic on Stack search...

What about the stuff beyond the reach of the universe. Assume the big bang occurred and it is still expanding. What is in the "stuff" we are expanding into?

@nicael true, and I tremble at the thought of what you'll do with such a bug :P

@bjb568 The other universes, in many theories, have different physical laws than ours. How does that fit in?

3:33 PM
@Andy The universe is infinite and expands into itself.
@Andy They don't exist to us unless we can observe or interact with them.

It's universes all the way down then, eh?
I'm not disputing that you can observe them. I'm saying that in many theories, these other universes have different laws regarding physics.
You are saying that once it can be seen though, it's ours

@Andy It's like zooming in to a graph, the guidelines will always be there. First you're looking at [0,10], then [0,1], then [0,10^-100000000].
s/guidelines/a word that means what I want it to mean/
@Andy yes.

That's cool. I can't say I disagree with anything other than the "Expanding into itself". I'm not a fan of things like "it's infinite", but I don't have a better theory to go with.
