Is there any weird definition of days and years so that a year is about 365.2421 days?

2421 is solar stuff, 2425 is gregorian, 25 is julian...

Sounds about right for normal days accounting for leap years, found something here: enotes.com/homework-help/what-exact-number-days-one-year-179507
Don't know if the small difference is leap seconds

user202362
@bjb568 an average year is, because leap and no leap years

An average what kind of year?

1:16 PM
Well the leap years are only to keep in line with a solar year, every solar year is pretty much the same length not magically one day shorter or longer

[ SmokeDetector ] All-caps title: RMS VLUE FOR NON PERIODIC SIGNAL EXIST? by user87127 on electronics.stackexchange.com

if (year is not exactly divisible by 4) then (it is a common year)
else
if (year is not exactly divisible by 100) then (it is a leap year)
else
if (year is not exactly divisible by 400) then (it is a common year)
else (it is a leap year)

That's gregorian, 2425

Just found something here with a good description, it's just the length of the actual solar year: history.com/news/ask-history/why-do-we-have-leap-year

1:26 PM
A tropical year (also known as a solar year), for general purposes, is the time that the Sun takes to return to the same position in the cycle of seasons, as seen from Earth; for example, the time from vernal equinox to vernal equinox, or from summer solstice to summer solstice. Because of the precession of the equinoxes, the seasonal cycle does not remain exactly synchronized with the position of the Earth in its orbit around the Sun. As a consequence, the tropical year is about 20 minutes shorter than the time it takes Earth to complete one full orbit around the Sun as measured with respect to...
365.24218
it rounds up

user202362
seems one's for calendar simplicity, one is the actual time that the Sun takes to return to the same position in the cycle of seasons, as seen from Earth

yes
But I can't manage to find .2421
maybe my chem teacher and that article just rounded wrong

It's slowing down, maybe that's a reference from an older year?
Although looking at the rate of change it'd have to be a much older year lol.
