This is going to be pretty short and somewhat to the point. I have a big problem with what goes on in the suggested edits section of /review. Obviously there is a lot of mindless approval going on, but I think that the other big problem here is the massive amount of "too minor" edits that are sli...
Is it true that our reviewers are supposed to be approving these minor edits now, or should we keep on educating them, but to Reject and Edit with a substantive edit instead?
@Unihedron the latter. Some explanation: if it's a good edit => approve; if it's too minor => "improve edit" to build upon it or "reject and edit" to restart; if it's an incorrect edit => reject; if you're not sure => skip

@Bart wording may be a bit off, but I think it means that if the reviewer builds upon the edit, it must have at least something worth keeping, and no matter how minor it is, it shouldn't go lost.
Approve & Edit in these situations would give out the 2 rep, which would have our editors realize that their edits were appreciated, and they might go make more edits despite how minor they are. Which is not the right signal to give out.
My stance is that the "something" to keep may be too minor itself.

@lostsock is reviewing. At this point, he can either improve the edit (which was improved), improve it further, reject, or reject and edit, but in the UI it informs him that there is a pending automatic edit if this edit is rejected. He improves the automatic edit:
The point was that reviewers has insta-edit privs, so if they reject and we implement without conflicting, have an automatic edit that commences if the edit is rejected.

[user B reviews user A's edit - Reject & Edit]
Edit still in queue. Improved edit is auto applied to post. Notification is now displayed to other reviewers, telling them the post has been already edited.
[user C reviews user A's edit - Reject]
Edit still in queue.
[user D reviews user A's edit - Reject & Edit]
user D is now taken to the live post with the editor pre-loaded so (s)he may edit the post if still necessary. Edit is now rejected. user A doesn't get any rep.
Funny you mention that, as it was only last night when I was thinking of the possibility of having a "Sub-Mod" class, that is, users with less privs than Mods, but more than what they currently have (auto-gained once certain goals have been met).
@Unihedron Yeah, something like that. Or for users that feel they're not ready to take on all the responsibilities of a Mod and just want to "start out small".
@mehow there's more than enough (non-programmers) people who don't understand that, though. And they want vba to do jobs that are simply out of scope by magnitudes.
that's nothing still compared to what you get if you digitise said blocks of diamond and carry around 36 hard drives (the biggest ones) full of diamond blocks instead.

This in response to a comment of mine where I essentially stated that the users here in the Tavern know how the site works and are "trolling" the post. Harmless really, but it caused a sh*t-storm.
