You could do like me and avoid stars. They burn my leaves and branches anyway.

@TGMCians Oh, don't tell me you starred that @bart

I was driving, and one of the lenses popped out of my glasses. It was cool, there was two of everything, one big and one little. And the perspective warp was different.

6:33 PM
@Bart alright. I meant that if I see your transcript I will find that your last message should have at least one stars
which I see here..I dont even stars any random messages.
@rene Yeah Don't worry

@TGMCians I was kidding. I was hinting at my messages always being non-trivial, therefore always deserving a star. ;)

Ah ok

surprisingly low attention for a piece of spam on SO

I wonder why people post spam; they never get anything back from it.

@JanDvorak They get deleted?

6:48 PM
yup

@J.Musser but in the meantime...

@JanDvorak Ya think their spam really gets that many views?

@J.Musser one will do

@JanDvorak I never thought of actually following spam links. Huh.

@J.Musser Google sometimes does that

6:57 PM
I just posted an asnwer on GL, and didn't even see a 0. Someone voted without reading :(
If people upvote your stuff without reading it, does that mean it wasn't worth reading, or you are so trustworthy, it is already law?
It happens too often.

maybe your tree avatar helps you gain authority

@JanDvorak Ha! What would a tree know of plant matters?

7:23 PM
d'oh! another pinned message

@lostsock Yeah, I saw. It won't load for me.

@J.Musser just shows an interface similar to your questions/etc in your profile, saying that order #### has been fulfilled.. so the same as the previous pinned message basically, :(

@lostsock Ah.
Oh, there it is. Rather boring, I wonder why it was pinned.

Joe
Just wondering: I'm a member of several SE forums. When I got enough points on one forum to get the 100 point bump on the others, did I get it on all but that one or on all of them?

@Joe All

Thanks!

at least I did.
@Joe What are SE forums?

Sam
(They're not forums btw.)

@Sam Hence my question. :)

Sam
@J.Musser Yeah, you beat me by a couple of secs.

Joe
7:42 PM
What do we call them then? I've been active on them for awhile, but i don't talk about them much (meta).

@Joe Q&A sites

Sam
@Joe Information battlegrounds, struggling to maintain a decent quality standard (to be precise).

Joe
OK. That works for me. I understand we don't want "discussions" like the name "forum" would imply.

@Joe Yeah, a forum is a discussion site, so not really like SE.
@Joe You could treat it like a forum, and I would flag you, if you want.

why wasn't this closed as a duplicate of meta.SO?

@Bart Yup. Definitely.

@lostsock probably because cross-site duplicates are not supported.

That just gives me an "This webpage has a redirect loop" error. Chrome FTW!

Wait, dangit, shouldiblamecaching.com.
It works for me because parts of my website are still cached. -_-
@hichris123 Okay, fixed. :P

Heck, why not

... shall I?
Also, wondering when my closet server will blow out.
I'm running it at 100% CPU for like 1 hour now.

You don't have to shut down your whole website; they have code snippets that just show loading icons on your pages.

:D

10:51 PM
@lostsock closed anyway

@hichris123 Buuuuuug
Also, WTH is this?
663K for a homepage consisting of a whole lot of nothing.
What's with that character on the end? It's a button! That's it! No character!
Warning! Idiot button.

@bjb568 I went to click it after you mentioned it. It doesn't really bring you anywhere, but you can make it flash by moving the mouse near and away quickly.

^^Center the text? Text should at least be 6px away from the edge of the screen.

@Lightness, hichris is disputing that very fact. He wants to do something that I've made intentionally inconvenient, which naturally he doesn't care much for. Ok, fine. Then he claims that he's being forced to do something inconvenient, which is entirely untrue. Of course, he's not being forced to do anything, and is perfectly free to adjust his workflow to one that's not being intentionally discouraged - but that's his call, not mine. — Shog9 ♦ 2 mins ago

@Unihedron Page doesn't load.

@bjb568 That's the problem. I'm not using the stylesheets properly.

Cool it works now! uni.solarxd.me/testing How do I change the title?

Title? I don't think you can on jsfiddle.
If you want, you could do it with this: data:text/html,hi

What do you guys think of this post from Matt S., the guy from pets.se, who i know because of his recent activity on GL?

Q: If rep farming with edits is a problem, why offer the reputation for edits in the first place?

Matt S.I see quite often, especially when the problems with the review queue are discussed, that there is a proposed problem with people rep farming with edits. The idea is that these people are making poor edits just for the sake of the points you get when those edits are accepted. If rep farming is a...

He has some good points.
I think he's wrong that the people who care about the edit quality don't care about rep, at least most of the time, but IMO, rep for edits does more good than bad.

I myself sometimes makes an edit and quietly thinks "I totally deserve two rep for that", but at last didn't because I'm already above 2k.

What do SE, the Giants, and the Jets have in common? Audiences that can discuss for hours whether something should have been a flag or not.

And I appreciate the little magical internet points when editing on a non-SO site. I guess it does make me want to edit more. But on SO the editors are a problem. Maybe just disable it on SO?

@Unihedron Ha, my edits are usually worth more than the original post, but I can't complain, I'm getting rep fast enough from other sources. :)

> Also all lack knowledge of where Jimmy Hoffa is buried.

@JonEricson ha!
Are you sure he's not buried under the servers?

@bjb568 There should be a system that finds out whether the edit rep is causing more harm than good, so that it can be disabled. 'for reasons of moderation, edits no longer provide users under 2000 rep with 2 reputation points.'

@hichris123 No comment.
